Destiny 2 is still on track for a 2017 Release

Gods, let this one be on PC...
Destiny art - That's right Destiny's Age of Triumph Launch Trailer is here. Hot on the heels of our Destiny 2 leak news, too.

Yep, you read that right. But the big question is… is it coming to PC? As PC Gamer was able to discern from the recent Activision-Blizzard earnings call, it’s possible. But then, so is my butt losing all it’s hair. I’m not sure which is more likely to happen. As a PC gamer at heart, I really hope it does come to PC. I’m infinitely better on PC with shooters (even if I still suck).

PS4 and XBox One are a definite, and the progress on the game is moving along well according to the call. What’s that mean? Likely that this year’s E3 will be the year of Destiny 2.

From PC Gamer:

But it seems almost a sure thing: Support for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms have been dropped, yet the earnings call slideshows states that the sequel will “broaden the franchise’s global reach.” That sounds very much to me like a move to PC is all but inevitable. We’ll keep you posted.

What would we like from a Destiny 2?

I don’t think I’m alone in saying that I hope Destiny 2 has a more open world and traverse-able universe. I want a real massively multiplayer feel to maps, where more than a handful of heroes are roving about. I’d love it if we could actually pilot our ships, shoot down some nasty bad dudes from the sky, and oh yeah… more Nolan North Ghost, please.

And yes, PC would be great. Like the NEOGaf thread said last year, it’s kind of a much wanted thing, and likely that Vicarious Visions and High Moon are the team working on the port. One thing’s certain – we all really want Destiny 2 to live up to the lofty goals and slow but steady improvements made with the first game’s DLC. Bring it on, Bungie. The gaming world is watching.
