Dropzone Update Brings New Game Modes & F2P Model

Dropzone

Dropzone is going free to play on April 12th. In addition to that great news, a big update has been released with new game modes and a lot more.

Dropzone free to play? You bet!

Anyone with a Steam account will soon be able to log into the RTS / MOBA game to take part in strategic battles. New in the latest update are Team 3v3 for competitors who like to PvP in teams as well as Ranked Draft 1v1. The latter “intensifies competition” for those who fight for bragging rights.

Team 3v3 Mode lets players control a single unit along with two others to better perfect their game style. Using the right attacks and abilities is easier thanks to only needing to keep one unit in mind.

In Ranked Draft 1v1, everything comes down to choosing the right gear for the fight. Pilot, Rig and Gear will make as much difference as skill in these heated matches.

Players will be able to join with friends in a queue that adds in-game chat and better match-making.

Other things of note:

  • competitive 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 fights
  • PvP
  • PvE
  • custom maps
  • single player vs AI
  • cooperative horde mode
