Styx Shards of Darkness - review - new game releases

This week is what we like to call… “The Week Before Mass Effect.” Are there any huge AAA titles? Not really, but we can all use a break after Horizon, Zelda, and Wildlands in a row. This week still has its fair share of quality looking games. So let’s get to it. Here are the New Game Releases for March 13th to March 18th 2017. The list ain’t exhaustive, as PC has TONS more via Steam. But here’s what we think is worth watching this week.

Styx: Shards of Darkness – PS4, XB1, and PC (3/14)

Following the fall of Akenash tower, an extraordinary matter has forced Styx out of hiding and into Korrangar, city of the Dark Elves. Supposedly impregnable, a diplomatic summit offers Styx a chance at slipping in unnoticed. His infiltration complete, Styx will stop at nothing to accomplish the robbery of a lifetime: stealing a scepter of immense and indomitable power.

Star Trek: Bridge Crew – PS VR (3/14)

Developed specifically for VR, Star Trek: Bridge Crew is the only game to offer a true-to-life level of immersion in the Star Trek universe, where- as officers of the Federation- every action and decision you make together will determine the fate of your ship and crew.

Death Squared – XB1, PS4, PC (3/14)

Death Squared is a multiplayer puzzle game about cooperation, communication, and robot explosions.

The Binding of Isaac: Afterbith – Switch (3/17)

The latest expansion to The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth features: 55+ new items, new final chapter with boss and ending, new playable character, greed hard mode, daily greed runs, 5 new challenges, loads of new achievements, new bosses and other little editions, plus new dev tools! so you can design, edit and play and endless number of mods, features and whole new games that the community will no doubt eventually design.

Double Breakout – WiiU, 3DS (3/16)

Double Breakout is a breakout game for one or two players combining game mechanics from a traditional breakout game and a pong game. Play against the computer opponent aiming for a high score or compete against a friend through 20 exciting levels.

NueroVoider – XB1, PC (3/17)

NeuroVoider is a twin-stick shooter RPG set in a cyber futuristic world about brains shooting around evil robots with nuclear rocket launchers. Battle through the horde of vigilant robots, boost your character with the smoking remains of your victims, and defeat the master NeuroVoider.

  1. Thanks. I’m saving my money in hopes that the Andromeda reviews are good. Looking forward to the Ringed City DLC most.
