Perpetuum has an update coming tomorrow and it will include a new Spark teleport system. You will be able to teleport to terminals where you have installed Sparks.

The Gamma Frontier expansion brought new islands that can be populated by mass networks of player built structures. But the best thing that helps you with this deed is the terraforming. You can shape the landscape to you liking.
