RL is being invaded by WoW kids, too!

OMG RUNNNNNNNNNNNN.

(No, seriously, this is life. Get used to it. All MMOs are the same - kids everywhere, people being pen1ses behind percieved anonymity, etc.)

Nope, he is not to blame. Many "normal" customers who were not searching the formus had no way to know. Even many major retailers didn't know.

That's what happened to me. I pre-ordered the game, but didn't get the card for the War Mammoth and Early Access until yesterday when I went and picked up my copy of AoC. By then, the EA thing was done.

Ah well. It's only a few more days. I've got plenty to do in LOTR to keep me busy until then.  *shrug*

What kind of BS is this ...

I pre-ordered and got my pretty little card. I carefully read the fine print. It informed me that it entitled me to some mount (yay...) and early access (the reason I bought it).

Now, the day it is supposed to go live, I am informed that I can not download nor play the game?

I'm pissed off beyond belief. So is everyone on every forum everywhere.

Too many years in development. Too many bugs in late beta. And now this?

I'm giving my pre-order back.

This game will flop. I'm sorry to say that because I was very optimistic and excited for it. I tried to be positive when everyone else was tearing it apart. This was the last straw.

Their is ALOT of mixed feelings a/b the launch of this game.  But I  do feel Jord has a point, if the box says, (and it does) free head start, early access, then after putting down your $50 bucks you should get what you pay for.....What the box says

Yes, and there were several different cards, some with a disclaimer and some without, etc... etc...   Many different people had many different experiences.

Anyway, we're only a couple days from launch now, in 1 month nobody will talk about this anymore

Just like no one really talks about Vanguard any more, unless they are talking about monumental failures.

Why?

Are you retarded?

Nowhere on the card does it stipulate that there are limited supplies. The early access program was the reason I pre-ordered.

The EA actually got shut down on the 14th as per the following article:

http://blog.wired.com/games/2008/05/age-of-conans-e.html

It's just a matter of time before this game takes it's place in line after Vanguard for the biggest budget flops in the history of gaming.

They didn't anticipate the spike of early access subscribers.  It was in a post on their forums from the Community Manager.  It's closed now because there's no server space left and they're currently allocating more servers for release.

If you're pissed because the game is being successful even before launch, you're pretty retarded.  You should have signed up for Early Access THE DAY you got your card.

As you say, even Funcom didn't anticipate the number of people who would be trying to get into EA. So I don't blame people that didn't rush home with their key and register. I waited a day after I got my key to register and it was already too late. Only a day later, I got the shaft, lol.

I'm not really upset, I'll wait. Just pointing out that all the people blaming the victims here are being pretty unreasonable. There is reason to be upset. And judging by the screaming of those who had to wait a few extra hours just to get into the early access today, they'd have been just as upset if they had been cut off as many of us have.

Just sayin'.

Ahhh no, AoC is nothing like VG.  Don't be so negative

I pre-ordered around 3-4 months ago and decided to go pick up the game at my local store after Gamestop gave me a call stating I could.  I picked up my pre-ordered card and AoC box at the sametime.  I was looking forward to playing today but since I wasn't on the ball and reg'd I have no one to blame but myself.  To the OP, I feel your pain as I am used to getting EA with pre orders and getting to experience it before others but it's really not too big of a deal.  3 days will go by fairly quickly.  At least in my case I have the game installed and patched so I am ready to go on the 20th.

Yeah. Mine was from GameStop and didn't have a disclaimer on it at all. It just said to check the registration page for more details.

I'm not worried about it, though. I've waited this long for AoC, a couple of days won't make much of a difference.
