I have to say after reading about all the cool features this game has to offer, I'm absolutely SOLD! I mean check this stuff out.... http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/4 It's the perfect mmorpg! Why haven't I heard about this game before? |

Ok so maybe that was rude if you Really dont know about Darkfall ... here is the scoop .. its not a real game and odds are it never will be. |

maybe you really don't know... Darkfall was announced late 2002 and has been in production for such a long time that people make fun of it quite often, saying it will never come out. Its slated to release the end of this year. If it will or if it won't remains to be seen. and if your trolling, good work you got me. |

Well OP, welcome to MMORPG.com. (must be new). Darkfall does sound like the coolest game ever, with more features packed into one game than any development house has ever even promised, never mind attempted. Of course, the company making the promises is an unknown, that's steeped in mystery, and has been working on the game for up to 7 years depending on which start date you chose to use. It's been promised for beta about 3-4 times dating back to 2003, and the current schedule has it coming out before the end of the year. Few have seen DF, the company does nothing to really promote it, and the game ranks up in the top 2 of most folks "vaporware' lists. We all hope DF one day comes out as promised (hey, they just said they can deliver 150+ fps in game, a number that staggers the imagination, especially since they said those values were achieved on average hardware. Would be nice if they'd actually prove some of their claims with a fraps video or two, but they are too busy coding the game it seems.

150 FPS? WHY we can only see 60 fps... FILM only goes 32 fps people are nuts man, its like they wanna see things they can't even see. |

Its not fake! Its just been in development and the creative rights has switched hands as well as its being developed by a small company that is kinda new at making games. So its taken them quite a long time for them to get this game out, believe me when I first heard about Darkfall I was so excited that someone had finally made a game to follow Ultima. I'm still hoping they'll release this game at the end of this year, that is still the release date. They have pushed back the game before but this time they seem really adamant that they will get it done in time for this release date. But again, NOT a fake game, just a game that has had a lot of problems in its development because they bit off more than anyone could really chew easily and they were really new at it at the time so they took much longer than expected. Lets hope for this winter.
P.S. Many people will tell you this game is "Vapour ware" in other words a product that the developers are not able to make because the promises they've made are too high for anyone to meet. However the government of Greece gave them loans to finish this game recently. Most Governments don't loan out money if they don't expect it to get it back.
