Darkfall

Honestly, if the beta and full game are planned to release this year, I think we can expect to see another AoC scenario. Ya know, keep everything tight lipped to the very end and be revealed as a liar as pertaining to content and quality of the game. No matter what my opinions or worries about Darkfall, I still don't see the point of making these threads to call the fans out. WoWers don't like when people hate on WoW, as is trendy to do. AoC fans fight tooth and nail for the pile waste and get upset when people bring up its failings. Why poke at Forumfallers?

July now and still no Beta??  that CD distribution deal they made a little while ago doesn't mean anything or show the quality of the game. Only a Beta can do that. That company is only some CD replication company that ships out DVD's. It's not even a real video game publisher.

It's already July and they plan on releasing this in less than 6 months and don't even have a date for a beta to start?

Where are all the gameplay videos showing the core features in action?? All we have are a bunch of Alpha looking videos a few months before a supposed commercial launch? and no date for a public Beta to even begin?

Yes we know AVE will distribute the game in Europe. Your point is? That they cant fulfill there there part of the deal or? And if so what do you base that on?

Game will be released 2008 with a beta exceeding it with a few weeks, seems the game is very polished. Guess those professional QA-testers have done a good job. =)

A new video is soon to be released as Tasos promised us a few weeks ago. Guess its not finished yet.

And it sure was nice to hear Tasos inform us that the game is 100% feature complete some months ago so try not to worry to much. Game is to be released in a few months, cant wait. =)

Sure would be nice if Tasos would share this with us in a more corporeal form so that we wouldn't have to worry so much.

But like you said, in less than 6 months we'll know one way or another.

Age of Conan and Darkfall Developers have completely different strategies concerning beta and release.

Age of Conans Funcom had closed beta for many months and a NDA that werent lifted until people had already payed for the game. Fight night that all that had payed a certain amount as subscriber for a certain website could download and participate. Open beta was tortage to level 20, not the full game. That was smart and greedy since the full game wasnt ready for release. Age of Conans Funcom performed more or less a scam as i see it. Tricked people to buy a unfinished game. Funcom didnt play with open cards and cheated their playerbase.

Darkfalls Aventurine is gonna let us the players test the fully game before buying it. Not one cent before i made up my mind the game is for me. There will not be pre-orders for Darkfall, can be read in a Developer Journal some months back. Beta will only be a stress test, not some bug seeking reports from random players with different knowledge of computers. This is already done by the professional QA-testers Aventurine used. For how long a time they used professional QA-testers isnt known but i guess for a long, long time.

So you see, you will not have to pay a cent to Aventurine before you tested the game. Give me an example of this from any other game developers if you can? This is playing with open cards, no cheating like Funcom did. And this is like it always should be as i see it. Its good for the MMORPG market and can hopefully bring back some faith in the genre from playerbase.

Yup we will soon know. What we havent heard from him is if the game is feature and skill balanced yet so that is still unknown. But as you said, that will also be known in some months. =)

True, all statements is quotes from Tasos except very polished game which is my own statement. A few weeks beta as Tasos wrote have been misunderstood as 2 weeks which isnt accurate or what he ment. Tasos version of a few weeks is more then 2 weeks, just to clarify.

My point wasn't about paying for the game, it was about the fact that the developers chose to disclose little to no info on the game (hard proven info) till the very last second. By no means take me as someone here to ridicule Darkfall or its fans. I sim
