In agree with you Saint

The fact Page used Lies and Misinformations against Everquest2 (about dungeons) made it clear, the Op wanted to be provocative.

The OP is definately trying to start a flame war...

I've had both games since launch with all expansions.  When 70 was the cap in EQ2 it took me about 3 months to level a toon to the cap and even more time to max my AAs.  In WoW it took me about 7 1/2 days to reach max level with my Hunter and about 12 days on my Mage (he's a bit squishie).  I really liked WoW but the average maturaty level of the game was very low compared to EQ2's.

But in general, I play EQ2 during the Fall, Winter and first half of spring when I have a lot of time on my hands and I play WoW during the last part of spring and during the summer when I want to just jump on for some instant gratification when I get some time to play.

As for enjoyment factor... I have several hundred days logged on EQ2 and less than 40 on WoW.  WoW just doesn't have enough content to keep me around.  Oh and it's a bit on the super easy side.

/shrug

just my experience and opinions.

Hi everyone it's me the OP.

In reading all the replies, I take it that a lot of you think that I'm baiting EQ2 players and some feel as if i'm telling lies, and some agree with at least some of my post. However all I'm doing is stating my opinion, in some cases I may not be 100% but I still stand by how I feel.

Population... How can you argue that most all servers in WoW have a much larger player base, close to 24/7 WoW is well populated than any server in  EQ2.   EQ2 is a West coast evening game and a night time East coast game. and yes I'm talking about 2 larger servers Antonia Bayle and Crushbone, both servers are super low at 9 am and do not pick up AT ALL UNTIL 6 PM and 9 PM is prime time.

Maps......Are just bad, and navagation in the EQ2 world is not friendly to a new player at all.  More so than the countless MMO's I had played, By level 36 I got the feel of it and was able to get around well, but It was an irritating 36 levels to get to that point.

Soloing........Anyone that had stopped playing this game and does not post here anymore will agree, I know I've been reading this forum for two years now, It's not a matter of skill when you set out on a quest at level 35 in the Enchanted lands to get supplies from Bogbottom Mill, set yourself up, shoot an axe and get killed by 7 mobs at once form no where. Then try to get someone to help but only 3 players in the Zone but can't  ( read population ). Same thing on the beach of Thundering Stepps. This is only two  examples of many situations just like this !

Graphics and zoning....I must say that the 1-20 areas in Rise of Kunark are much better, but they still have a plasitc look t them. Most of EQ2 is still out dated such as the Antonica, Thundering Steppes, Commonlands and Nektulos forest.  Something needs to be done about most areas.  Almost no trees and the land is just flat. Thundering Steppes has that little gully you have to use to get by the rediculous amount of skeletons that just seem to irritate players as they try to get to there destination.  Zoning I'm sure is bad for most but I have a good computer but it could suck for me sometimes also.

PvP.......Just not that much to talk about here, cause there is none.

I may have been wrong about WoW having way more dungeons than EQ2, maybe just a few more.  But I do have to say other than Crushbone Keep most all dungeons are just caves at least up to level 36.  I kind of liked them anyway, but I'm spoiled from D&D Online.

I gave the best examples that I can, trying to back up what I say, how can you ask for more.

To the best of my knowledge i'm not lying and as far as baiting, I would  have to say it looks that way now, but some of the replies got me mad, and I feel as I  have to stick up for myself with back up.

Umbral keeps calling me a lier ( about 5 times ) because I say that WoW has more dungeons, but if you read my follow up post you would see that I stated that I may be wrong, he even acknowledged my follow up then continued to call me a lier anyway .  I still think that WoW may have more dungeons, but it's so hard to prove it because searching the web for EQ2 info is soooo much like pulling teeth.

Best i could do is this site:

http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Dungeon_Timeline

Yes,it's a good site for dungeons, but If you use this tool, I found that I could only get groups to go to the ones's coded in greenadding to the fact that I could not get any info anyplace for ones such as Gobblerocks hideout, Tombs of night and Condemned Catacomb's

It seems as if the Devs of EQ2 are not making this game user friendly and using after marked web sites for anything is very hard.

Like I say it's a very irritating game as compared to WoW, It's a game that you have to stick with it all the way to level 80 to began feeling comfortable, and new players even with MMO experience are JUST NOT GONNA PUT UP WITH !

And please stop me if I'm wrong with saying that no one new ever stays more than 30 days, even my large guild talks about this on Ventrilo. Everyone in my guild are nice,  I'll never dispute that, but You could just tell that your not treated like one of the group until you had endured EQ2 for a long time.

I am still trying to figure out the whole "it is hard to solo in EQ 2" comment. You are talking about Everquest 2, right?

I'm one of them.  I did recently ramp up my PC to get more out of World of Warcraft.  The graphics are a lot smoother and better.  The big difference is melee PVP.  It's a lot easier to fight in close when the baddies aren't constantly jumping around the screen.

My MMORPG resume' includes:  AnimeMuck, FictionMuck, Everquest, Everquest II, Guild Wars, City of Heroes/Villains, Voyage Century, Star Wars Galaxies, EVE Online (still play), RF Online (still play), and some others I can't remember I'm sure.

I too am getting tired of the pompous, "Grow up and play a real game like Everquest II".  That unwelcoming elitist attitude adds to the reasons why I no longer play.

Good point saint4God,  Let's talk about kids for a bit !

Most all MMO's game forum's state that WoW is the game for kids, Right ?

Well I played so many MMo's and I find the same % of kids is all of them. Even pre-Age of Conan, everyone was stating that there will be less because of the "M" rateing, but infact there was more ! As you can't even play on a PvP server because 60's were killing 2's.

Also I had found that KIDS OF 10 YEARS OLD CAN MASTER ANY GAME JUST AS WELL AS ADULTS !!! The difference is that they tend to be short tempered and greedy. If they don't get there way they leave group's faster.

Because of there short temper's thay don't put up with games such as EQ2 for very long !

Kid's AND adults play WoW because it's enjoyable, user friendly and it's more sociable than any other game. Millions of players prove my point !

And the too complicated of kids ?,,,,,,,,,,,,, Come on !!!!   There better than you.

Page, now you changed your tone, first you have said "EQ2 has one dungeon per tier and I can back this info", can you understand why I said you were a lier?

Now you can see there are a lot of  dungeons in all tiers, but yes, most players dont go or dont even know about them, as I was an old EQ2 player I was always mentoring and inviting people for this places, but now that you changed your tone I understand why you didnt even notice all those dungeons.

I dont blame the user friendly aspect for this, to tell the truth, the main issue is, the player base is very, very small and most people just play EQ2 in a linear way, a game that has the size of EQ2 need a larger player base for sure, but SOE games are very unpopular, outside US no one knows Everquest series, but NCsoft games, Blizzard games, Arena Net games are very well known.

But really, you dont need to do what everyone do in EQ2, just start to invite people for these places and they will go with you.

The fact you enjoy WoW and you do not enjoy EQ2 is totally ok, but I dont think your arguments show that WoW is for sure more enjoyable, as a lot of people like this sense of hidden places and the possibility of non linear progression if you search for ir.

...just a side not, after level 40-50 players start to explore more and would be easier for you to experience all dungeons in this level range.
