warhammer like the Obama .. while wow is like the mccain :D

i don't agree there...Obama has most young voters wraped up in his "CHANGE"...McCain holds the more mature and older voters...and those who know what he brings to the table..instead of just CHANGE

WAR will not be CHANGE it will have the same things as most MMOs  but it is different enough to most people

WoW is like Bush and WAR is like McCain...most people don't see the differents because of graphics (political party)....but once it is launched people will understand

so i would switch that up.......Warhammer will not be as big as some people will make it out to be   but it WILL be my game i have played it...i am not in beta...but comic con was all i needed..

not enough to do....RvR does not go stale as it is a new experience every time as those who have played DAoC will know taking a keep with 50 people is a whole lot different then taking one with 100  as well as the type of defenders  more tank= different tactics then more ranged DPS...the TOK is HUGE and a lot more in depth then people think...playing the first few levels of a character i say unlocks about every 2 minutes....=] it is awesome and just finding all those unlocks will be a time sink all of its own (but a fun one i might add)  also the hidden quests through out the world will take time to find and they open up chains of quests the normal person would never see (of course by 3 months after launch i think most of these will be on the net in a database some where)

You really feel the war, compared to WoW where you really do not know why you fight opposing faction (just because you can? ), what is purpose of BG ( just to get next item?), what is purpose of Arena (just to get your team up in the rank and again get better items?)...

In contrast to WoW, WAR have complete MMO conception...

yup I agree... the feeling that you belong to a faction is there.. but still.... guild relations can offer that to you in any game... the rest of the game still has to offer you something more.....

All the beta's I have been in have turned out to be pretty much the same as the game itself upon release, so its a pretty good idea of what the game will be like.

Anyway what else is there to talk about? We're way past the point of "omg i hope such and such feature is in.. omg i hope they release some info about what the game will be about soon!" type posts :]

Mentioning guilds you know that your guild lvls and evolves with everything your character and other members do and can capture a keep.....

As for community.  AoC's community is piss poor as is WoW's, as I said previously LotRo had the best of the three games you mentioned but if WAR's turns out anything like used to exist on DAoC then LotRo will be left far behind.  If you had played DAoC back in the day you would know what I mean.

Except that back in the day mmorpg's weren't mainstream yet, these days, everyone and their dog (well, the pc gamers), play them, and you'll get tons of the bad apples in WAR, simply because its "the next great thing to play" in their minds..

And grr @ the cross-faction people

Build a better mouse trap and the world will beat a path to your door...... Wonder how rich you would become if you invented a working WoW kiddie filter :P

I've read/watched this game quite a bit... and I'm really trying to get excited about it.... but I can't...

I know there's plenty of fanbois on this forum and I'll probably get crucified for my opinions... but WAR just seems like the same stale gameplay to me...

I'm struggling to find something new... but all I see is another elf/goblin world with the same gameplay elements as other games...
The RvR which is the game's main selling point, is just zerg-battles... no matter how much you try to polish it.

If you want a game for the graphics/action/blood/carnage... play AoC (No.. it's not as bad as people say... but it needs A LOT work yet)

If you want a game for it's lore and character/world depth, play LOTRO (which is unparalleled in these areas)

and if you want a game that's got a lot of things to do then play WoW (...i'm not a fanboi... i hate it' for what it has become)

So why play yet another game that offers you the same things as countless other games?....
Sure you might play it for a change of scenery, but how long will that last?....

Anyway... I'd like to hear some constructive posts... please don't flame me... just expressing my opinions and i'm not  fanboi of any games.. (other than the Fallout series :))

edit: fixed for NDA...(I hope)

I'lle be playing it, simply because it is Warhammer. I'm a tabletopper, so I'm enjoying every second I play it. Same goes with DoW (And soon DoW2, and even further away the 40K MMO).

Truthfully: If the RvR doesn't appeal to you, then yeah, the game is just like any other MMO out there.

The world itself is what draws me in. The rest (Gameplay, PvP, etc.) is just a welcomed bonus for me.

$$$OE$$$
"We got your game"
(and we screwed it)

I am skeptical about this game, and also think the battles can become an unending boring zerg festival. But worth buying and trying it out. There are the public quests too, that looks like fun.

Awaiting for a skill base game with consequences.

I love the Warhammer Universe and the one thing that Mythic has been able to recreate is that sense of WAR.Now even if the game has some of the same mechanic that other games had it doesn't matter to me because that what I felt missing in the other games.

But in the end it's simply a matter of taste
