General Discussion

Hi,

after wow, AOC, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard and more I am on the look out for a game like this:

1. Realistic graphics
2. More Horror/darker enviroment (A gnome warlock is not evil he is just fluffy you want to hug...)
3. Great RP posbilities (so the game does not focus on pvp only (remember "Only"))
4. No "chinese" kind of games, for me those are like Lineage I and II
5. Good epic stories like in LOTRO (yes I liked the story)
6. Non instanced houses / guild towns
7. Feeling of a seemingless (spelled correctly?) world (For Example not the aoc zoning loading)
 

Can you help me find a game close to it? I am lost...and I am going back and forth to Wow --> AOC -->Wow -->LOTRO -->AOC.... Its getting anoying and feel irritated that the present mmo does not capture my interests...

so...maybe you can point out the game for me?

thanks for your quick reply. IMO Guild wars I have played already and that is the least seemingless world I know. Only the cities are kind of hubs, the rest is instanced. GW also looks like and gives you the feeling of playing a chinese kind of game.

There aren't many recent western made games, you tested all of the decent ones, you might want to look into EvE, CoH/CoV or Star Wars Galaxies, since those are the few decent games you didn't play.

you could try Dark age of Cammelot

1. it has "realistic" graphics... at least its not cartoony.

2. you fight against deamons and undead in pve or the other realms in pvp

3. since its an older game where not that much kiddys play i think you can find some rp´ers there

4. its an western game ^-^

5. cant remember much of the story its been a while.

6. housing is in a seperate zone without mobs but everyone can enter it and every one can enter your house if you want. it has private vendors with a search funktion too.

7. you can travel throu the howle world without loading new zones. it only has to load if you enter a dungeon or teleport to the lands of the expansions. every expansion has its own zone wich you can explore without loading.

Thanks for the reply. Tried Eve long time ago. Could not get "connected" by the ship only avatar.
COH/COV is too cartoonish IMO.
Star Wars Galaxies is not my type of scene to play

darn...I am critical and difficult to please so it seems...sigh...maybe I just have to wait...

Ah yes the good old days of DAC. Played it already. Rather go back to wow or LOTRO than DAC.

oh and let me straight this up quickly now: I dont like "chinese" (lets call it Far East from now on) kind of games because of the looks. Too much manga for my taste. Thats all...
