Will start by saying that I won't even listen to the trolls.

What I want to know is if this game is any good. I heard that people say it's an awesome PvE game and would like to try it myself but want to hear what others say about this game.

I will even insert a poll for LOTRO people can vote.

It really depends on what you want from an MMO.  To me LOTRO shines in the fact that it is like a story that is unfolding before your eyes.  The cut scenes (between events) are well thought out and give depth to the game.  The combat system and crafting system are not anything out of the ordinary, but each are enhanced by group play.

My only thing is that at this time there are no new servers to play on and given that it is hard to find a consistent group to run with to advance your character, there is room to solo a lot of the game, but some things require a group to complete in a timely fashon.  You best bet is to game with 2-3 friends or to read the server forums and decide on a guild that you think will assist you with low level play.  All in all I think it is a 7.5 to 8.0 out of 10, it is a good game especially if you have read the books and can follow along as the story unfolds.

Voted yes, been ingame since closed beta and still enjoying it. Best way to find out is to give it a trial. I recommend you to level up to at least lvl20 and grouping to get better scope of the game, testing different classes might be wise as well.

Anyways LotRO is one of the best PvE experiences available at the moment, with a company that seems to be knowing what they are doing.

Grammatically Retarded.

But what about those of us Who dont care about the LOTR Universe?

I liked the Hobbit Book and Watched the 3 Movies But its only a Neet side storry to the world IMO and I really HATE meating Hero chars in a MMO... A king or something i can kinda Understand, A GM played Char to Adv a storry, Sweet. But Froto Standing in a city asking for help would just piss me off

Yeah I know im weard But Some parts Look awsome then i read about other parts and just Nodd off.

And the Group Crafting thing, Plz Explain, Is it like Vanguard Where the more people helping Harvest  inproves your Product? Or just a Chating thing?

I really liked the game, but didn't feel compelled to keep playing it past a couple of months.

Thought the graphics were gorgeous personally, the landscapes and water were damn nice.  One of those games where you just want to go around the map for the sake of seeing new vistas, if your PC is strong enough ofc.

The animations and combat were nothing I haven't seen before but felt fine, not too clunky but not entirely fluid, they did fine.

Played all the classes to level 20 at least to get a feel for them and thought there was a decent enough variety between them all, I stuck with my Burglar and Champion mostly as I like the "feel" of those two classes the best.

The pacing through the early parts of the game was strong enough to keep you enticed into wanting to open up more of the questlines and got you exploring around the world fairly quickly, a few interesting "non combat" quests that keep you entertained like delivering pies and running errands in the Shire etc...

Didn't mess with pvp or play it enough to get into any sort of end-game so can't speak to those.

The auction house and crafting were easy enough to get into, again nothing new there really but some nice quirks such as being able to grow your own tobacco and blow various smoke rings with the different varieties.  Being able to play music with various instruments was another interesting touch.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the game to anyone as I personally think it's pretty slick and worth playing, but again can't really speak to any sort of pvp or endgame experiences as I wasn't captivated long enough to get into it.  I guess the drawbacks for me were burning myself out playing all the classes  and running all the beginner zones so many times over.  I did hit a point where I got bored just playing the game (to the point of falling asleep at the PC) but I'm sure if I had just chosen a main and stuck with it then I could have seen some more impressive things.

The game has alot of charm I would say try it out definately.  They had some free trial available at some point dunno if that's still going on or not, but if so it will give you a good idea of what it has in store.

LOTRO is very nice game.

Nicely made, polished with really cool features.

Also you will find running in a dungeon with a full group of people killing stuff absolutely amazing.

By far the best pve experience.

PvP is fun too. You get access to a  feature called monster play at lvl 10 which allows you to create a monster character which starts at max game lvl, lvl 50.

In my opinion, its a must play.

I am a real life hunter so i skin alot of animals, mostly deer. If someone is helping me skin one, dont you think it might go a little fast? hmmmm..... And hell you might learn something about skinning with the help of a buddy.

But as far as i know there is nothing like that in lotro. Just VG
