"Femmes Fatales - The Power of the Feminine in the Art of MMO" |
Lum, dear, I have to say this is one of the smartest and funniest posts I have ever read on www.mmorpg.com forums. If there was an award for the most creative posting of the year this would surely win hands down. Thank you
Keri

1. released unfinished game 2. very little to no communication 3. no realizing that they delivered an unfinished game, and lying how some things weren't even supposed to be in game,
it really sucks how Funcom went down, I had huge hopes for the game and was an avid fan for a long time. They shot themselves in the foot.... |

1. Crappy customer service, worst than SOE! Took them 4 days to get back to me and another week to fix the problem. 2. Small zones! If you're going to make every zone instanced, then make them a decent size like in EQ2. 3. Armor that looks like it's from Planet of the Apes. *makes chimp sounds Get your hands off me, you filty Ape err Barbarian!

MMOs require more reasoning and imagination than most stereotypically ''adult'' activities. |
1) Incompetence 2) See reason 1 3) See reason 2 |

As a former fanboy who is close to quitting, I would say 1) insufficient high level content. 2) Terrible itemization 3) Poor incentives to group 4) Overuse of instancing 5) Buggy client. Worse now than at release, for me at least. I love the combat and graphics...but that's not enough.

1. False advertising 2. Carrot on a stick - leading players on with lies and false promises 3. Basic game elements are still broken when they should have been working at launch. I expect bugs in any mmo launch. Funcom literally knew the game wasn't finished and threw it together hoping no one would really notice. Boy were they wrong. In the how-to's of mmo business and game development, there will forever be a chapter devoted to the case study that is Funcom and Age of Conan. Believe me, it wil not be a flattering chapter. |

1) Utter lack of progress on fixing major issues. Includes class / gameplay / equipment / technical issues. Very, very wide in scope, TBH, but it all fits under the same valid reason. FC hasn't rectified any of it since release. 2) Features listed on release box or pre-release hype not in-game or not working at all. 3) For a game that people like to say is graphically advanced and beautiful, everybody... and I mean **everybody**... looks the same. All thanks to only a handful of graphic sets used for equipment, most especially armor. That's my top 3, but I could easily add 1 more "Big One" |

The customers (or recently departed ones) are NOT the ones responsible for making, fixing, and running the game. The customers were the ones PAYING Failcom to do so. |
