I wasnt expecting much to be honest, i was expecting it to be a wow clone, yes many elements are the same but still different. Classes are fun and looks balanced Then again i am lvl 10, might change at lvl 40)

But so far so good, it turned out to be better than i expected, yes there are some areas still unfinished (I went into the bright wizard college and pressed M for map and it said -map coming soon- but that didnt disappoint me, cause altdorf was like 10 times the size of stormwind.

Public quests are fun, the only thing i got disappointed was after i dropped a blue sword i tried to link it to my friends but i dont think u can do it, so i had to type all rhe stats of the item, but i am sure they will put that into the game sometime soon.

It was well worth my $50, we will see if they keep up the good job they might keep me subscribed for another 3 months.

Behold! Rash of the Itch King comes in November! Quake in fear!

People seem to forget about WoW's 4 years of polish and additions. Of course it'd be nice to have things like item links, but right now, Mythic has much bigger concerns. It's a good feature however and Mythic listens to their community, so since the majority would enjoy it I think it'll be implemented sooner rather than later. I want to see them tackling the big issues during the first month, like stability and performance, then add in the extras after that.

Glad you're enjoying it though! As for "if it's different at level 40 or not", the game is designed around PvP first (class balance wise) so, if anything, it'll be more fun - but still balanced - because you'll have more skills and abilities .

Sounds cool. I hope to have more time to play it myself in the coming week. Hopefully the new ATI drivers will put an end to the game just closing down with no error message after 30-45 minutes. If not, guess I'll have to actually look at some support forums. :-p

Confident, cocky, lazy, dead.

My verdict so far:

Highly entertaining. The game is 'next gen' and an evolution from the WoW formula in at least one important aspect;

Mythic took pvp and grouped pve outside of instances and battlegrounds and spread them all over the world itself and that is a blast. The world feels so much more dynamic and rich this way. You stumble into Public Quest's everywhere and the RvR (when both sides are at it) is solid fun as well. And for those who think you can't have meaningfull pve outside of instances or honest pvp outside of bg's; they put those in as well.

WAR is deep, diverse and about gameplay, gameplay and some more gameplay with a Warhammer sauce over everything. And no, the zones aren't so linear as you might think; it truly feels like a vast open world where you can go and do what you want to do and where you want to do it. It feels much more sandboxy than I had expected and that was a great relief. It is easy to be misguided by the way the tier map looks like a schematic overview. In reality you won't experience those borders so much. The world really is large, vast and diverse.

Sure there are a few minor things like items not being linkable, etc. but if you take a few seconds and think on how stable and complete WAR is at launch, Mythic only deserves a shit load of praise. And no doubt they are busy fine tuning some things.

I played my fair share of mmo's in the past, tried and failed at sticking with WoW, Lotro and quickly ran away from AoC. I was a bit let down by mmo's in general but playing WAR  is for me as entertaining as my first days in WOW or EvE and I guess that I will stay for a long time. Every game might get boring after a while but I know in my gut that with this one it will take allot of time to get there.
