Pain is temporary. Glory is forever.

Correct me if I'm wrong but how come, aesthetically, WoW (aka World of Warcraft) looks a lot like WAR (aka Warhammer Online)? I mean, look at the orcs; they wield huge axes, wear big ass armor, and have green skin like their WAR counterparts. Even the humans in WoW would blend in easily with their WAR counterparts. The only difference would probably be in how the colors in WoW seem brighter and dandier. Other than that, everything else looks kinda similar. Why is that?

Common sense is not so common.

Warcraft was originally intended to be Warhammer, but because Games Workshop withdrew their license (and other complications) Bizzard ended up making their own lore and in that way released what may have an astounding (but not surprising) similarity to Warhammer. ...or so I've heard.

They would not blend or mesh well at all.  Period.  If you truel feel that way I know an eye doctor to whom you can call for an immediate check-up.  The two games have distinctly different looks and art style, and if you were to look long and hard enough you would plainly see the differences.

You are imagining things. I've played the game, and the Dwarf starting area could be considered a suburb of Ironforge.

There is something distinctly familiar about some of the areas in WOW, and both my son and his friend have confirmed the same.

Better visit the eye doctor yourself methinks.

Man, are you, like, a Warhammer fanboy or something? Mind you, I dig Warhammer but there is something a bit off in how it shares art styles with Warcraft. I mean, look at the promo art of WoW and WAR and you'll see humans or dwarves wielding hammers or guns, wearing chunky armor against orcs wielding axes. And yeah, look up the meaning of the word, aesthetics too. You just had to go around dissing people.

Man, I wasn't referring to the lore; I was referring to the similar art styles shared by WoW and Warhammer. But yeah, you're right in saying that the Warcraft lore has been around; heck, it inevitably led to the creation of WoW.

By the way, the Warhammer lore was made by Games Workshop way before the Warcraft lore was created by the great peeps at Blizzard.

A battle is won but the war rages on.

Blizzard stole/ripped off lore from both Warhammer and Warhammer 40k universe, they originaly intended to get the license for both soo they could make WC and SC ,but they were denied and had to quickly rehash/rewrite most stuff.

If you look at most stuff in WoW,you will notice that it's similar to the warhammer universe, elf (war) and blood elf (wow) look exactly the same for exemple.

Afaik, the dwarfs that are in WAR universe have specific traits that are only encountered in WoW,like having rifles and more advanced tech (like gyrocopters).

The guys who made the warhammer universe got their inspiration from the tolkien world, they didnt blatantly ripped it off.

Any person who denies this is a blind blizzard fanboy living under the "blind fanboy rock".
