and so continues the era of shallow, mainstream mmorpgs

So I had the best fun I had so far with this game a few days ago. I was roaming Order territory with a Dark Elf and ganking/ambushing players whilst queing up for scenarios.

It was a blast, particularly the 'world pvp', I was doing exceptionally well because I am by nature a very competitive gamer and in one scenario was miles ahead of anyone else in terms of damage/kills. Which made me log off that day very satisifed because I love to be on top.

Anyway the point is I've tried to log in today and yesterday, looked around for about 5mins and just logged off again. I just cant bring myself to play it for some reason. It's almost like I've experienced all the game has to offer and I just don't care anymore.

It's like I know how the game will pan out, sort of when you go through halfway of a SP game and just stop playing because you know the rest will be all the same. I remember moment of intense, exhilerating pvp in WoW in the good ole days, and the pvp in this game reminds me of that and even a little bit more... but to what end? Suddenly it all feels pointless.

im sure you would feel like this no matter what game you played.

playing: vanguard saga of heroes and warhammer online

Please.. you didnt even get to a high level and you judged the game... LMAO you didnt even go 1/4 of the game and your comparing it to a SP game? So how was taking a keep? How was firing that catapult? Or how was taking the main city? When you get to 40 come back and say you know how the game pans out or ends.. lmao..

Looking at the poulation issues I will have to agree as unless you are in a very organized hardcore guild I see endgame being very onesided. Destro just has alot more people so if you play Destro you will see the endgame in WAR but as order it will be harder to flip tier 4 before the Destro can do it. Until the poulation imbalance is fixed and renoun gear is buffed I see very little reason for order to do world RVR objectives.

Right now the RVR renoun gear is very lacking unless it gets a buff to be on par with PQ stuff people on Order will just get tired of being steamrolled for no reward. On my server Order ninjas keeps all the time but once the Destro zerg shows up they get it back fast. Maybe my server is the exception but Order usually does well in scenarios but world RVR is very one sided.

Playing- Lotro

From my perspective (as a mid level player) the biggest problem with RvR is that all the rewards uniformly suck when compared to doing scenarios. You're almost forced to do scenarios if you want progress along with your peers (I have the misfortune to have joined a hardcore guild that may soon boot me for being too low level). Scenarios are fun for a time, but they are repetitive and they don't help with immersion. They are akin to the experience you might have playing a first person shooter - doing the same map over and over again. Not my cup of tea...

PQ's - You need to do them for the gear because PvP gear sucks nad. But everyone seems to just park themselves at the first PQ in the chapter (closest to the relevant village), and then grind it out till the end. I've seen 60+ people at one of these initial PQ's. And after having got my bag yelled out I'm going to the next one two minutes down the road, anyone want to come along? And nobody follows. They're all like zombies. So I've pretty much just given up and now do the same. Finish the chapter in one place, and then move on. Because as I said, my guild are mostly on to tier 4 now.

PvE (questing) - Next to useless for experience and gear. Do it if you want to try and get more out of the game, but expect to be thought of as a chump for making that choice. Everything about WAR PvE reminds me of WoW, even down to the ding sound it makes when you complete a quest. In fact, everything in WAR - classes, graphics, generic gear, linear world design, etc. - feels like WoW to me except the PvP. And I've already played WoW. But then again, I've always been more of a free form AC1, SWG type dude to begin with. So I do think WAR is a game many other people might well enjoy. There is definitely a spark at work here.

You probably just played it to much and need a few days break... But it can also be that you lost that new MMO feeling that is so great.

If you still feel it's a pain to logg on in a week or 2 then quit and get something else but there is a big chanse that youll just need a few days off, happens often to me when I played to much:)

REWARDS REWARDS REWARDS I hate this bastardized community of people that think rewards is the only thing they play for. THE FUN is supposed to be activity NOT the goal.

I think you hit it right on the head.  I played WoW for too long... 2 pre-BC 60s Hunter, Loc Ally... 2 new post BC 70s Shammi, Durd, Horde. I have enjoyed both games. I really like the leveling system in WAR. I like the tactics, Career points, RP points, and the Guild system.  But I am in the same funk. I just don't want to log into the game anymore. I am not going back to WotLK either. I hear a lot of RL peopl
