Game is not worth it when you hit tier3, the fun is taken way out of the game from the previous tiers. No, I'm not talking about population or grind, but the overall design is quite frankly, shit. The classes are completely out of balanced (happens when you give too many skills), the new maps are also horribly designed compared to the previous scenarios (have fun with racing to your objective, because it won't happen.. you're enemy will use an exploit to get there first), lastly renown gear sucks compared to PQ but have fun trying to do PQs in tier3. Add the obvious population and grind issues associated to this, well looky here.. shit. I was really excited about the city sieges, it's going to take a strong willed powergamer to get through this mess. Meanwhile, I'll be running Tiers1-2 repeatedly until I get bored.. which is already getting there. In other words, not worth the time investment to go into tier 3. |

Even if WAR doesn't succeed straight away, it's possible it could become a cult hit and grow like EVE online has |

Honestly if you want to post a topic like this do in the warhammer VN forums.. you can at least get some somewhat intellegent responses from people who actually play and thus know what they are talking about. Having a different opinion happens obviously.. but when you see obvious troll posts from people who obvious have either never played or made it to the Tier being discussed.. it really doesn't add anything. |

How do you know when you have lost touch with reality? When you think anyone on VN forums is intelligent.
More to topic though: I agree to some degree with the OP. Tier 3 is an issue at the moment and it has nothing to do with winning or losing. It has to do with the population not adapting from T1-2 to T3, except in some rare instances. Bottom line is the game does get harder (for lack of better term) in T3. I love the keeps at this tier though and suspect that 6 months from now, people are going to be twinking toons just to RvR in the T3 zones.
Now that I have rambled some, specifically: I don't like the skill distribution post level 18ish. The game becomes very spammy with everyone having insta- this and insta- that. Post 21 they just seem to get worse (I only have 1 toon above 22). The balance seems okay, so no real complaints, but honestly I'd like to see the skills cut back slightly. The population is poor at these levels for PQs, but it is getting better every day, so I think the OP's complaint about PQs will disappear soon. |

I've given up with MMORPG.com. It's the 4CHAN of MMO forums. |

I fail to see why it will take a strong willed powergamer... I am tier 3, and still make a level every 1-2 days. And I'm NOT a hardcore player. Heck, if I did nothing but grind scenarios, I could get a tier 3 level in 6-8 hours. There's a few class balance issues, but...name one game that hasn't had them? ;) DAOC did, WOW did - they tend to show up more readily in pvp focused games. It's a fact of the genre, and they'll change over time - last months FOTM class will be nerfed and some new class will be FOTM instead. Always happens, always has, always will. Play your class, play it well, play with friends and work as a team - you'll find you're effecive even if some other class is a tad overpowered. Our guild groups ROUTINELY win scenarios, for instance; I mean, almost always, when we have a FG of guildmates in voice chat and in a scenario, we win. Compare that to PUG scenarios, where it's pretty much 50-50. Teamwork and good gameplay matter far more in this game than anything else. Tier 3 PQs are great! I have had zero trouble completing them, at least during primetime hours. I mean, I just did two tonight - you can pretty much always walk up to a PQ, and find people there working it. Maybe not every PQ every time, and certainly not at 6am, but during evening hours it's very solid. This is Volkmar, a server with a higher than average number of elder guilds, and stronger players - so I think we have a crowd that leveled a bit faster than average, but give it another week and you should have a ton more T3 people on every server. A couple of the T3 scenarios could have used more thought. Tor Annoc (or whatever it's called, the lava cave one) needs a complete overhaul - it's a trash scenario right now IMHO, hate it. ;) Most of the rest are great, however, and require intense teamwork and focused effort to win. |
