I need help.
Ok, I'm looking for MMOGs to play. Ten at most and I can discern them from there. Problem is, I've never played an MMO and I don't really have any experience. They have to be rated "T for Teen" and include the following content or less: Violence, Use of Alcohol or Tobacco Reference By the way, PLEASE make sure it has none or barely any sexual or suggestive themed content. Please give me your best opinion for some MMOs! A little more info to help you:
Also, some games I was considering were:
Thanks in advance! I go on the internet everyday, so expect replies soon!
EDIT: By the way, upcoming MMOGs will be fine too |

you choose either alliance or horde (good/evil). on alliance you can be human, gnome, dwarf, night elf, alien thingy, and i think thats it. horde is orc, troll, undead, cow people, blood elf, .... yeah... you got your basic classes: warrior, mage, priest, paladin, druid, warlock, rogue, hunter bleh bleh bleh you pick your side and class. customize your character with the most amazing options of like face and hair color. and there are about 4 different faces! WOWIE! you start out in your little newbie zone and do quests, then those quests take you to another place to do quests. then after doing those quests you go to a new place to do more quests. and every quest is pretty much exactly the same. go collect x amount of these, or go and kill an x amount of these mobs that or you can always do the old fashioned way of leveling. find a place you can kill at without getting owned and grind your ass off for hours crafting is pick a archtype and go harvest some thing you need for it and click a button and boom its created, its really challenging then after you get bored to death of quest grinding you can go and pvp! go to your battlegrounds npc's at your respective city and wait for the game to fill. lower levels its slow but if you quest grind to max level you can get a BG game in seconds. then you can grind those for days for pvp gear. or if your really bored you can go to a zone like the barrens and talk about chuck norris and super cool things like that! its pretty much the funnest game that has ever been created. and if you are poor you can buy gold from the 245 million gold farmers that advertise in and out of game i think i covered all the bases there for WoW! |

Eat the dead, WOW hate , and questionable lang. aside. OP was looking for unbiased info! And the comment about being allowed to play from him/her, states you are probably talking to a child! YES I made a silly commet in this post too, but going all crazy like that was uncalled for. Just take a drink and I will book you on the DR. Phil show as soon as I can! I took this post as very negative but feel free to correct me! |

Gosh - such helpful replies. MMORPGs don't tend to have a whole lot of sexual content - it's mostly fantasy / cartoon violence (the vast majority are Teen rated). The only definate exception to that is Age of Conan which is M rated and does contain nudity. That said - the online component is unrestricted, meaning that your interaction with the other players isn't governed by the ESRB rating in the vast majority. The conversations and themes on in-game chat can and will range from nothing to very mature. Many guilds will police themselves on such things - but there's no guarentee. Provided that processor is a Core2 and not a P4 you're fine with those specs. You wouldn't be able to play at max settings on some games, but they'll all play and look pretty good. Since you're new to the genre I'd recommend going with an established game of the mainstream variety. World of Warcraft is a good choice (the graphics will look a little dated now). A similar (but newer) game would be Lord of the Rings Online. EVE is an excellent game, but it has a very steep learning curve and is best suited to a patient player with a fair bit of time to play. Also helps if you're naturally social and looking to actually play 'with' other people online (as opposed to other games where you can very easily solo through the whole game). It's hard to recommend a new player to EVE right away without knowing the type of person you are. The other games you mention aren't going to be out for a bit, and as a new player to the genre it may be a frustrating experience to jump into a game that is just released. There is a lot of stability and balancing issues to take care of in a new MMO and putting up with them is something of an aquired taste. You'd probably be better off with a game that's been released for a few months at least. There's really a lot to cover, keep reading and jump in when you've got a good feeling about a certain game. Just be aware that there's a lot of people that either fanatically defend or fanatically attack every game on the market. Pick one you like and make your own opinions.
