I left the game after creating too many alt's and not enjoying TBC as much as lvl 60 WoW about 5 months ago because I lost my account (don't call me dumb, someone stole ALL my information including my payPal account, it wasn't because I was trying to run a glider). I had a 70 Hunter, 68 Warrior, 61 Shaman, 45 Rogue, 43 Druid, 60 Hunter, and 51 Shaman. All are gone now.

I'm looking to play more casual than I normally played, but I don't want to spend 6 months getting back to 70.

So my question how many people think it's worth it to come back and start fresh?

I also wanted to add that a majority of my real life friends quit as well. We started with a group of around 8 of us, and now there is only one person debating to come back with me.

Voted for no. I was in similar situation to yours few months ago. Me and my rl friend who also used to play wow decided to give it a go. We have installed it, downloaded all the patches, addons and shiet, then entered the game, only to find out that most of our friends had either quit or spread to other servers.  We played alts for 2-3 hours then I decided to give up. My friend played +- one week  and gave up too.  First I thought I could somehow enjoy wow again, but I kinda lost motivation. And even if more of my rl friends would decide to play again I doubt I could take the same ol´ road and feel like Im not wastin my time.

Dunno about starting new again. If you had high level toons I'd say it might be worth checking out the revamped talent trees.

I have no desire to play that game again, but lots of people are curious about the death knights and what not.

Help someone who can not return the favor.

If you have your original WoW cd key you can always get your account back and restored if something happened to your characters.

WoW is definately a casual friendly game compared to most MMOs out there, but the fun in leveling isn't like it used to be when it first came out. It's not easy to get lower level instances going even with the LFG tool. I suggest looking up Aion and keeping an eye on that. I haven't done much research on it, but I have read it will be casual friendly as well.

The decision to play WoW is one that can only be made by you. However, the best answer to this question is obtained by answering this

What is it you enjoy about playing an MMO? What do you want out of the game?

I wrote an article on this subject

A guide on how to find a new MMO to play

Good luck!

 No.

Whatever drove you away before will drive you away again.  It's the same game, pretty much the same models (a few new ones sprinkled in), same grind, same MEH.
