Okay, back to reality. Is anyone here honestly and truly surprised by this outcome? I'm sure as hell not. In fact, the minute the GOP announced McCain as their candidate I realized that the election had already been decided. The GOP could have put up just about any other nominee and had a better chance of winning. Instead, they rolled out a corpse to fight the incredible teflon man.

As for the dick waving between the Dems and reps here.... There isn't a dime's bit of difference between the two parties. There hasn't been for a long time.

R.I.P. U.S.

The harbinger of death is upon you. Let's hope Hell comes to take Obama back.

I will not support him - absolutely not. He is not my President. I do not recognize him - I never will.

Glad the rest of America came to its senses and elected the right guy for the job...looking forward to see what he can do.

I hate to say it, but the Dems will end up paying in the end just like the Republicans.  When "we" elected them into a majority, they sat on their collective lorrels and did nothing they promised and actually did a bunch of crap we didn't ask for or want.  The Dems will do the same.  Look forward to Dems passing a bunch of pet projects to help themselves pay off their campaign debt, and every time something bad comes up, pointing at the Bush Administration instead of owning up and fixing shit.  Heck, all you have to do is look at the last 2 years of a Democratic House to see what our future holds.

Bask in your glory now Dems.  Republicans did too in '04 and it got them nowhere.

There is no change.  You have been duped just like conservatives in '04.

You just summed up what politics is all about. But be glad that Obama's win is a win for racial equality.

Anyone from any background can now with whole heart know that, they too can grow up to be a corrupt politician.

-but more seriously-

Obama has no debt to pay off. He's still got like 150 million dollars from his campaign. If he can run the economy the way he ran his campaign budget, I think we'll be just fine.

But there is political debt in a form other than $$$.

Yes, a ban. That sort of statement is inexcusable. I'm sorry you have such a cynical view of American politics. Our political system and those in it may not be up to your high expectations and it's far from perfect but it's a lot better than most people in other places in the world can only dream of.  Perhaps if you traveled around and experience other not so accommodating forms of government you might come back with a slightly different point of view and a better appreciation of what you have back home.

Tell you what I will volunteer to ban myself, to appease you all.

America maybe better relative to other contries, but no I don't appriate our "democratic" system, only the politicians do and the people that like to pretend their vote matters and/or actually like the democrates and republicans.

And if wishing bad things on an elected official or and nearly all officials in my case is apparently inexcusable then I will leave.

Good job supressing free speech and thought though.

It''s not that I''m afraid to die. It''s just I don''t want to be there when it happens.

Free speech means we have the freedom to tell you that your speech was stupid as all hell.  Free thought means we have the freedom to examine your thoughts and find them the result of a warped, twisted, immature mind.

Free speech and free thought are not trump cards that make stupidity unquestionable.  They're tools.  You've used those tools to spew fail all over these boards.

No kidding.  There are a few politicians I'm not thrilled with, but I wouldn't go as far as wishing death upon them.

Personally, I don't think you should be banned and you can say what you like. Just like those who think you should be banned. I don't think anyone has broken any rules here, although I don't know for sure since I've not actually read them. I just find it an odd fact that you think that saying you wish someone would assassinate a political figure is less alarming than someone saying you should be banned from a game website.  I'm pretty sure that not seeing the difference in the degree of gravity associated with the two is indicative of a broken mind.

Here's to hoping you don't find yourself in the back of a black helicopter and swept off to Guantánamo Bay!  (okay, I'm over-stating that bit, but you never know!)
