Humm comparing their crafting and sandbox elements both games share similarities. Their main different is that ER is open PvP and free loot, where FE will have world regions dedicated to PvP. As far as I know there is no player looting in FE. Their stories are very different as well – ER is more techlike, and FE is very much a mad-max-world. These are just some of the basic differences, I’m sure with a little reading and research you can find more in dept information.

I think both games are fresh and unique in that they give the players the power to affect the world by making player crafted items the uber game gear. Something many of us have been clamoring fore for a long time. Plus there are not many sandbox, story driven, MMO’s these days, which I think will make these games reach a demographic that has been pushed aside and ignored. Weather they’ll be good games remains to be seen. But unlike the major studios Masthead and Icarus seem to be taking their time in balancing the game and making sure they have a complete polished product before they shelve it.

Picking one over the other is actully hard for me because these sandbox games are the types of games I enjoy playing. I will definetly be trying both games out. I voted for FE though because I like the storyline and the mad-max environment in the game.

I voted for Earthrise because they seem like they are fans of EVE in their interviews and seem very interested in creating a true world that seems aflame with dynamic conflict

Both games will be excellent I think but Earthrise will be straight up skill-based while FE will have Levels that you earn that award skillpoints from what I gather.

Not sure if Earthrise will be fully open pvp I thought there would be safe areas for people. I'm indifferent to safe zones- as long as they let me exist completely in the open pvp zone.

I chose Earthrise but both look pretty good. The crafting in Earthrise looks amazing and you can learn every skill in the game the only thing that will dictate what you can do is the gear you wear as in if you are in heavy combat armor your casting will be affected.

And Earthrise will be fully open PVP! As in you can PK anywhere at anytime but if you are in a secure area like a large city the city guard will retaliate and if you keep killing in the city the diffculty level of the guards sent after you will increase.

Now playing:
Tabula Rasa, The Saga of Ryzom

Played:
The Saga of Ryzom, Starwars Galaxies, Guild Wars, Metin 2, Cabal

Looking Forward to:
Earthrise, W.E.L.L. Online, Star Gate Worlds, Aion

Fallen Earth appears to be the successor to AO (just check out the stats window), Earthrise, a land based Eve (the devs have not hidden the fact they draw alot of inspiration from it). Both AO and Eve are my 2 favourite MMOs for different reasons, guess I will be playing both.

Fallen Earth.

I'm not convinced that the Earthrise team are capable of creating the game they describe, or that it even exists (as a game) at all.

I'm leaning towards fallen earth more too. I will undoubtedly try both, but the post-apocalyptic setting looks very interesting.
