Consider this a heads up if you haven't got the game yet. Buy the US version and play their servers.

The game is doing well in US with healthy servers, acceptable support and regular hotfixes.

In the EU the game is dieing. There's only two servers at High pop mid-week and those are non-english, the rest are somewhere between Med and Low. ORVR is rare, scenarios die out as you advance in tiers and support is non-existant. Patches are lost in translation. Features that the US have had since release are still on indefinate hold in the EU, such as Realm Leaderboards, Free Char Transfer to fix the ghost town servers and the recent Test Server which is the latest to get added to the EU's "coming soon"-list. Europeans are met with the same incompetent arrogance that mirrors what Funcom did at Conan.

I couldn't have thought of a better example of how support will make or break a game.

Having different publishers in the USA and EU is just asking for trouble, I can't get my head around why Developers do this.

I think "dieing" is overstating things a tad though.

Its cause here in europe we get treated as second class customers. Other day i was on the american war site, visually it looks better, better design and more content on it. Howcome we can't transfer off the dead servers yet? If you dont act fast you lose the chance to save this game..it may be too late already, its got a bad rep with more people. Pisses me off that over here they choose lame companys to release games for them.

Renko, its not. It is dieing here in Europe. I did play it for about 2-3 days before I said fuck the game, took about 1-2 weeks longer until all my friends did and went back to their usual games. I work at a gaming center and Im consumed with all the hatred against WAR, lol. No one plays WAR anymore.. Atleast not in Sweden, its like dead already since weeks ago.

It's a shame really considering the table top games stronghold is the EU and especially the uk, the gameing club I go to has around a hundred table top gamers and there was a real buzz about warhammer online and well over half bought the game in the frist week yet barely a month after release hardly any are still playing.

I must admit i feel that EU customers are not being looked after so to speak as well as american customers. The EU player base is huge yet we get treated terribly in comparison to the US, they have a site that functions well, the warhammer herald, realmwar etc etc. Getting a US version of the game might be better but i don't know if i wanna go through the whole leveling process again.

GOA ...

They're a french telecom company that also partnered with Mythic's Dark Age of Camelot. Their performance was equally bad there and it's no exaggeration to say that Camelot players in the EU were half a year behind the US in version history.

The catch is; GOA promised in an open letter that they'd better themselves for WAR.

Anyway, I could live with bad support as long as there were people to play with, but I rarily run into anyone because the population is spread too thin across the servers. It breaks my heart because I fancy the game alot.

We're stuck in a circle where people leave because the pop is low and the pop is low cause they leave etc. That tends to end in only one way.
