I remember watching the development of this game.Played EQ1 for years and was looking forward to it.People pleaded with SOE to make solo possible. Not comparable with grouping, just possible for most classes. SOE and the seeming majority of outspoken followers of the game said "go play a single player game if you want solo". They may have made it easier now.I'll never find out though, one chance for a first impression and all that. WoW released weeks later with easy solo..not sure how that turned out, anyone know which game has more players? D&D online did the exact same thing years later.I watched in amazement as the devs, and the vocal community proclaimed "If you are online in this game, you will group, and you will like it".People have jobs and commitments, usually I have an hour to play on weeknights.40 minutes after I log on the group is formed and I'm at the dungeon...after the first pull,ok gotta go guys... *Shrug*

Originally posted by darkman13 Sadly the "go play a single player game" crowd is alive and well and is in full cry in the TSO beta forums..honestly what the hell the devs are thinking about with this expansion is beyond me a big overland zone for sure 150 or so quests and then nothing for the solo/duo type player..just dungoens aimed at full groups (good luck with that on some servers too) more or less a waste of an expansion in my eyes.
Of course there had to be focus on groupage with this one but not at the complete expense of other playstyles..ROK was bad but this ones worse in my eyes becuase they've repeated the mistakes but just reversed the order of them the mind boggles.
I think if you look at the Oboards the general meh-ness feeling about this expansion is evident..all other xpacs have had thousands of posts about them but there just seems to be a trickle since the NDA was lifted.
As for me this expansion is the straw that broke the camels back and i've cancelled my subscription big shame as it was a great game. |

Like I said above crashing is not an issue. To say it is an issue with 8800 series is not true. I am running 8800 gt oc cards and have no crash problems at all. If you are crashing it is probably not your 8800 card. |

Ok. I resubbed a few weeks ago. I crashed into blue screen of death with my 8800gtx 3-4 times per hour! Usually right in the character screen. I don't crash in any other game with my computer. When I removed 8800gtx and put some old 6600 card into, it stopped crashing in EQ2. I used the lowest graphical setting possible even when I had 8800gtx in it, and it still crashed. When I contacted support, after a few protocol steps that could possibly fix it, they said there's nothing else they can do about the problem. It definetly is EQ2 issue with 8800gtx cards. |

Alphen arms dealer rijin? No one can pronounce that Kyle! I can''t speak African.. |
This is from a EQ2 player(well not active anymore) But the main reason why i am not active with the game now is to many x packs, I just dont have the money to keep up with that at this time, and by the time i would be able to get it will be outdated and a new xpack is out or coming which you need the old one for. |

First are you using Vista? Then are you getting a client not responding crash message or the well know out of memory error message? Most of the EQ2 crash issues are Vista issues not 8800 issues. You seem to know what you are doing but make sure you have the lastest nvidea drivers and have Vista up to date. If you are in XP then I can not help but if you are in Vista and actually care I might be able to help you out. Send me an e-mail here and I can offer a few suggestions. One system hog in Vista is superfetch make sure you have this disabled. Checkout my sticky here on making the game look and perform better. There are a few suggestions that might help. If you are done with EQ2 and do not care then it is to bad you did not get to enjoy the game as I do. Great graphic and solid stable performance. These things are in EQ2 but unfortunatly you need to tweak things more then other games to get EQ2 running great. More people would play if it performed great out of the box. EQ2 does take a bit of homework to get it to it's total glory. |
