Can't agree more. If I ever see a guy flapping his arms and acting out combat in Darkfall I will puke all over my keyboard. I should have picked up that the game was made for kids because it was certainly the crowd he was trying to attract. |

Notice how Paul goes on to make some quite profound and insightful statements about the game and MMORPGs in general, but is met by total disinterest by the others in the meeting. My estimation of the guy has actually gone up after watching this vid. EA and Mythic however, not so much. P.S: Watch out for the "EA is out to make money" gaffe from one of the Devs that Paul has to correct.

If they concentrated a lot more on the kinds of things that he was talking about and a lot less on linear game structure then mmorpgs would be much better. In fact why not just make an entire game world out of it, although I suppose this would be a sandbox really. It would be very labour intensive but personally I would be willing to sacrifce other aspects of a game such as graphics in order to accomodate it. |
