I have been following Darkfall for years now with more excitement than the normal fan.  I have been looking for a sandbox game since UO.  I want Darkfall to work.

Awhile back someone posted about http://www.mortalonline.com/

I started reading about it and it seems to be very similiar to Darkfall.  Mortal Online is estimated to be released by the summer of 2009 and Darkfall I would say will end up being released around the same time.

I guess my concern is that if Darkfall comes out around the same time as Mortal online there will be a split in the population between the 2.

I have done way more research on Darkfall than I have on Mortal online.   Im curious as to how people feel about Darkfall vs Mortal online.

Please I am in no way trying to promote one over the other

Bugger off, you shmuck.

Mortal Online can say summer 2009 all it wants, but there is no way in hell that it will be even close to ready at that time.  As far as anyone knows, they have a very long way to go.  Release in 2010 barely even sounds realistic, in my opinion, never mind 2009.

Mortal Online is still in design phase, don't expect a release before 2011-12.
It is still premature talking about DF vs MO

The important thing is that Aventurine delivers what they promised, if they don't, we ll have at least 3 more years of waiting before the next one.........................

Well if you have followed mmorpg.com for past few years you know that mmo's that are rushed are failors.

So april this year MO annouced and is in pre alpha stage, do you realy think they can finish this game in 2009 and launch a polished game, i say NO imposible.

Darkfall on other hand is in developement for 7 years now and when released when its almost complete and polished.

MO is no match for Darkfall

One of main reasons is why its still not here on mmorpg.com MO is becouse its still in pre ALPHA stage.

Lets face it, MMOs today are turning into single player console games with a chat box included.

Since neither game has been released, you cant really say "MO is no match for Darkfall".

Terrible. Just terrible.

You won't have to wait three yeas for the next one unless you don't like Sci-Fi because Earthrise is supposed to be released sometime next year as well.

Now playing:

Wrong..there are not levels in MO and it`s skilled based.

You need to read up on your info about MO.

Q: How many character levels are there in Mortal Online?

A: None. We have no levels and therefore no level restrictions - i.e. certain levels needed to reach an area or to be able to handle a specific sword. You are free to travel the world in any way you like, limited only by the terrain, mode of conveyance or dangers in the environment. In the same way you can use any sword you like, provided you have the necessary skills to wield it.
