Avison wisdom of the ages...

They were designed to get players into groups. But....

Players always need to split up to:

1.Get their latest gear.

2.Get more potions.

3.Get the latest skills from the trainer.

4.Repair their gear.

5.Finish and old quest

And on and on... Thoughts?

Like all things, people must repair itmes, like everything people need items.  You need skills to learn.  I dont understand what the problem is.  Or is it u want a game whereu can play in a grp but u dont need to do anythign but be in a group running around?  If so go make the most boring game in the world, with nothing  in it except trees, then you and your friends can group up all you want, doing nothing but looking at trees.

not true to all mmorpgs.  I've played in a group for over 12 hours in FFXI without leaving for training (since there is none) or anything else.  over that 12 hours only 1 person had to be replaced, because he had to leave.  If you want a game where you can find a group and stick with them the entire day, FFXI is a good choice

killing stuff of course.  It was with a bunch of friends from my linkshell, so it was casual leveling with some chitchat in there, and the occasional dead taru

Most games work in such a fashion. The only way it could work otherwise is to provide player classes with talents to appease those requirements, and then of course players who actually enjoy playing those classes. Most games have civilizations/cities close enough together to make it impractical to take a tradesman along in a group.
