I would encourage you to do the same, i have already emailed community@mmorpg.com a few times with very thorough examples and evidence with yet they have acted on, supplemented by further PM's from people pointing out certain things. Game conversation aside, this is screwing these forums up to no end and those people know who they are. It eschews the real context of topics when 20% of the posts in them are from the same person under different names. Such as this thread gives such extremes both ways. Btw those statements are extreme sarcasm, but it's true I don't need to convince anyone, it's the opinion I have from my own concurrent experiences in game. Take a look at Straddens post here: www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/212780 you can just imagine the types of posts to follow if someting like that was posted here. |

Originally posted by AmazingAvery This article you talk about is only about pvp and it was actually written by the same guy. Here is what he says in the end: "As we approach the half-year point, Conan's PVP systems remain far from perfect, and some features (like Drunken Brawling, a just-for-fun PVP mode which would allow players of all levels to compete with one another on equal standing) haven't made it in as yet." "Yet many of the improvements required are more basic - more variety in the mini-games, a rethink of some World PVP consequences, and a further round of bug fixes on Sieges would all do wonders for the game." So he's saying FC still has a lot of work to do regarding pvp. Personally the lack of meaningful endgame pvp made me quit the game. What I was talking about earlier was the Eurogamer Age of Conan re-review (like I said, written by the same guy). You can find it here: He gave AoC 6/10 and it's a good review imo. And what I've seen here on the forums, most people agree. |

Most people voted it over a 7 here:
And it has bee rising the past few weeks. What does that tell you. Metacritic gives it 8/10. Pick your favourite media review and go with that - what ever makes the reader happy. These are facts and not broad sweeping statements that are not accurate - hence the guy who wrote the Eurogamer review failed to research properly that Drunken Brawling was canned, finito, gone... end of story. All I see is people clinging on to outdated information that barely has any reference any more. Even the review here was wrote at a time before genuine game improving features and additions were added in. And I am sorry but I hold the opinion that it is wrong for so many games on the list here to recieve higher scores like Last Chaos - it is just simply WRONG and that is what more people complained about rather than the score.

You talk about outdated information. Well, 95% of those metacritic reviews you talked about were made a long long time ago, most of them just after launch by reviewers who hadn't even finished Tortage. How does that give a good information about the situation right now? It is a known fact that most people first like AoC but once they reach the higher levels they get bored and quit. This is the reason AoC got so good reviews after launch. It's also the reason why 85-90% of players quit the game after a couple of months. AoC is an ok game for a month or two but doesn't have that magic that keeps you coming online day after day. I never trust user reviews like what they have on this site. They can be biased, made by shills or trolls. I believe Eurogamer Age of Conan re-review is the most recent review made by a respectable gaming site, and like I said they gave AoC 6/10. |

Many of the users here have done just that, I personally have sent in atleast 4 e-mails in the past 2 months, some directly to Mods I have coressponded with. It seems maybe the staff don't have the proper tools to verify that the accounts are all originating from a single source. It's unfortunate, it hurts the community here as well the credibility and relavance of MMORPG.com as an entity. A troll thread is a troll thread, .... taking a pro or con stance matters not when folks are basically posting nonsensical rubbish (this OP) and 'nanny nanny boo-boo' to bait replies. Folks have talked about some of the things posted here as bening 'viral marketting', it may or may not be. But the root effect is obvious. Walking into a church and loudly proclaiming "There is no God, Santa Claus told me so!" will ellicit a ton of responses .. it's automatic. Either way the conversation that follows is pointless, believers will believe, others will call them fools, the world keeps turning and a real discussion is once again drowned out by zealots and their screams.
I don't have to hate on the Age of Conan, I have a crystal ball, it works perfectly because it sees backwards and history repeats itself. FunCom's attitude toward players and it's uneven policies, combined with their shoddy Customer Service turn every fan against them at some point ... I have watched it happen over and over and over during the last 7 years. Call it a 'water is wet, the sky is blue' thing. |

And Yes, I really do beleive someone would go to all the trouble making that many user accounts to bump the number up, it seems to be the life's mission of a few rabid nutjobs around here to try in anyway possible to get some kind of public vindication of their personal emotional investment in this title. |
