You should do some actual research and fact-checking before you get too carried away with yourself.

Um...seriously Chief. Those sales aren't coming from other Blizzard products in any meaningful way at this point.

Amazon:

Diablo Battle Chest: ranked 472 in game sales

Starcraft: ranked 1035 in game sales

Diablo 2: ranked 981 in game sales

Warcraft 3: ranked 265 in game sales

Now, granted, that's just Amazon, but those games aren't selling nearly enough boxes to begin to add up to much in the total sales figures vs. WoW.

Did you look at what was ranked #1 in video games on Amazon?  That chart isn't indicative of the market.

Chief, no offense, but if you think Starcraft, warcraft, and diablo box sales of very old games by comparison came even CLOSE to the 2 million boxes of WoW sold (minimum), let alone the 150 million dollars a MONTH they bring in from subscription revenues...you're off your rocker.  You're literally comparing the drop to the bucket.

actualy starcraft is still a best seller in foreign countrys  they play it as a sport in south korea and have televised matches...

Does gaming qualify as a sport?  It would make the next olympics more interesting than previous years.

Supposedly not a whole lot.  Most of the money goes back into Vivendi's coffers.

Currently playing:
LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)

Looking Foward too:
Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)

Blizzard today very much reminds me of Nintendo in the 90-ies. Back then when it came to adventure gaming, nothing could touch The Legend of Zelda, when it came to platform action, nothing could touch Mario and even spin offs like Mario Kart dominated their respective genres.

I remembering many game companies tried to compete.  Sonic had its own style and fast furious action but overall its depth didn't come near that of Mario World/64.

Many action adventure games where also created, sometimes it seemed Sega launched a new Zelda clone every month, but none of them touched the level of quality and perfection that Nintendo achieved.

WoTLK and frankly the entire WoW series is pretty much like that. The next generation "Zelda" if you will (not in terms of gameplay, but certainly in terms of being ahead of competitors).

The new expansion is once again on a level of quality that is so high that you already know that no competitors will get near it the following couple of years.

I think the big difference here is volume.  Blizz has had the same 1 game out since 2004-ish and still going very strong.  Still selling, still monthly subscriptions.  Nintendo had to keep cranking out new and different games (and consoles) to renew interests.  I don't have satistical comparison, but they're the biggest boatload of monthly income I know of historically.
