I think any game that is quest heavy mainly get experaince from being a delivery person or gathering supplies does get old. I would still like to see a good mix of both....

If you only want to kill stuff dont play a mmorpg, play a fps. There are some fantasy themedfps out there.

Why the hell can't there be fun ways to kill stuff? I could sit here and think of really fun quests that would require help from group members. Trust me...I'm not an instant gratification sort of person. I just feel that there are many many ways in which to make quests more than just kill X amount of Y and fedex quests.

 

But I guess that would make me anti-MMORPG and I should just go play a FPS...even though I hate FPS games.

 

Thank you for being the type of person that supports doing more of the same in every MMORPG. You can pat yourself on the back knowing that you are helping in the downfall of future MMORPGs.

I'd like to see more of, NPC town raids, more situational events, like a popular outpost being taken over by monsters or infested with critters, and the people who take part in "reclaiming" the area are rewarded.

Most quests seem to only involve only static NPC's and random / triggered mob spawns.  I wish more of them made temporary changes to the world itself.  Like a ritual that raises a castle out of the sea for a few hours, even that could be static, as long as the content was only of interest to the intended participants.

Also more creative and original quests, like an NPC that roams the entire world, always asks for some random rare item, if you have it when you meet him, some crazy event involving the entire area is triggered.

I wouldn't play the game if it didn't involve killing npcs. I think it could be a heck of a lot more interesting if the AI wasn't so monotonous though. If I wanted to do something that had consequences then I wouldn't be playing a fictional game. I love to hear the ding for accomplishing absolutely nothing of any special significance. I guess you could call me a casual gamer enthusiast.

What you are looking  for is RF Online. Pure grind and all about killing stuff in PvE and PvP.

         It really depends on the game as to whether the "killing stuff" is fun......If you are rewarded for killing mobs and going after more difficult mobs then yes I am in line....If its like LoTRO where you dont get diddly for killing anything then I have little interest........
