Kill ''em all till they uninstall |
WoW is in easy mode and that attracts many players, be it no-life or casual. So its no surprise to see WoW having high selling numbers in their expansions. Raids in WoW is nothing but timing. You time it right, you can do any instance over and over again like hot knife on butter.
I would be surprise if EQ / EQ2 have high selling numbers in their expansions..that represent how many players is up for some real challenge. |

PS : L2TROLL
I played when WoW first released, I played from release to almost a two years after, when MC was prominent. I was usuing MC as a reference of a dangerous place ( That I can actually remember or want to remember), not necessarily for number purposes. Sorry if I didn't hit exact specifics for you. And even in 40 mans, when loot is rolled on, droves leave without thinking of everyone else, it's the nature of the players of WoW. And it was possible to go in with a 5 man group to get some things done to get your key. Just not a whole lot. |

Are you insane or just talking about something you dont freaking know anything ?! First , there was NO ROLLS on 40 Raids , second , 2 years after launch MC was hardly "prominent" , third , no you didnt go with a 5 man group to do "some things done to get your key" ... jesus . |

You never played wow and had this experience. Before BC there was NOBODY who was pugging MC or higher raids. If someone did what you said, they would be instantly guild-kicked and blackballed on the server. What you described may happen (and does so fairly often) in 5man PUGS and quick dungeons. But it would never happen in a 40 man raid back in the day. That player would know that they would get one item upgrade, but they would be excluded from ever raiding again. No guild would take along a player who had ever done that. Ninjas infrequently happen in 5 man pugs, but they don't happen in raids... or let me rephrase that.. when they do happen in raids, it ends up on youtube and the player might as well delete that character. |

I unserstand what YOU are saying Azrile. But their were plenty of asshats who would hop and skip from guild to unsuspecting guild and do just that. Some guild mass recruited without background checks just to try to get server firsts or e-fame, and then complained when what we've mentioned happened, and only had themselves to blame. My guild was one of them, and this is what I was trying to relate (poorly apparently). Christ, some of these trolls are ready to jump on anything (Guess that's why they are trolls) if you don't take 2 hours to write an exact to how "THEY" see it account for everything. I haven't played in over a year or more, and since then have moved on to many other games and even testing. So I will crucify myself now for not having exact details to try and get a point across. Holonist, you weren't lying...you are a troll for sure...since you don't have reading comprehension apparently. I said MC was prominent from release up to a year or so after. Not 2 years after release. Which would be PRIOR to BC. When their was actually some level of minor difficulty to WoW. Done with this now, because I have work and school. |

I agree with what you said except that part in red is 100% false. On Elune there were successful PuG MC and Onyxia Raids before BC came out. There were even some PuG BWL raids for the first couple of bosses. The best I heard of any PuG groups doing in MC was clearing to Ragnaros. I don't remember any taking him down though. |

Originally posted by OrmSunnhet Fanboi? me? Nah. I give out arguments to your arguments. How is it fanboism? So anytime I say something positive i am a fanboi? Or anything negative i am a troll? You are stretching there buddy. back to the topic. Yeah if priest bails on you in MC that sux. But why are you in MC? Do you have to be there? No. If your group disbands (happens from time to time), you can just do something else. You are not FORCED to be there and get a group. Game is easy? Well, what is definition of easy? Is it the fact that you can level from 50 to 55 in 5 hours by constant quest/mob grinding? Sure, you can do that. But you dont have to. There are days when I level 5 levels in 1 day. There are times when i level 1 level in a week. Its called diversity. I dont know how your ignore list is full... are you anti-social or something? I played WoW since beta (on and off) and right now, my ignore list has max 5 people. The thing is, stupid people tend to leave the game, so you dont have to have them on ignore list. I even think your ignore list deletes names of the characters that were physically deleted. There is absolutely no reason why your ignore list should be maxed out (if thats even possible). If it is, well, don't blame anyone else but yourself. Im not calling your posts a flame (except for your immature stab of me being a "fanboi"). This is a place to exchange opinions and ideas. So if one person posts something what you post, others will post to agree or disagree. If 1 person agrees but 10 disagree, well, I guess your opinion is in minority. Not that its wrong, there is no right and wrong with opinions. But, if given enough facts, one can change his/hers opinion. Maybe you do not like a particular aspect of the game because you never considered something else that everyone is doing. You cannot possibly know everything. yes, I played EQ1, for a long time. And yeah, my heart trembled when I first played EQ1, it was FUN. You know why? Because it was NEW. There was nothing at the time that was anything like EQ1. I started with UO, but EQ1 was way better then UO. But, I changed my mind about EQ1. Why? Because it forced me to play THEIR game. Because I spent 5 hours LFGing in PoK. Because when I died due to lag, I lost hours and hours of experience. Because my real life comes first and I simply could not afford to spend hours in it to actually see my exp bar move a milimeter to the right. Is that what you called a "hard" game? Is that what you call "challenging"? If yes, then by that logic, you should cut your fingers off - that would make it even harder to play - more challenging! (No plz dont do that, its just to illustrate the point). The challenge, IMO, is NOT in hindering the player to achieve few things like EQ1 did. THe challenge is going into deadmines in a group full of level 15s and beating it. If you are good, you will beat it. If you suck, you wont beat it even at level 20. That is what challenge is all about. And NOT how long it takes to reach 80, because the goal of WoW is not to reach 80. You have been playing the game for all the wrong reasons.
PS: how does priest leaving MC raid differ from Cleric leaving EQ1 raid? The only difference, in WoW, it is easier to find a replacement AND if you cant find one, | |
