WAR (Warhammer Online)

I'm speaking to those who were blindly hopefull, fell for they hype and/or actually bought the game.

It looks like there's been a real exodus of users with WAR fanboy avatars. Guys who were lauding war as the next best thing and even the wow-killer.  Oh well.  Wonder if they were really players with blind devotion or were they mythic's little volunteer army. 

Next time maybe you'll listen when complaints are brought up on how the OB is handled or how bad the art direction and lighting and animations are--or how the game just doesn't feel right and lacks character.  That's ok, we'll do better next time.

What about too easy ? xp cap in 3 weeks ? No innovations? Dumb gameplay ?

I'm a jaded, veteran MMORPG player. Played most of the big names and some lesser known titles over the years.

Is this game perfect? No. However, I'm still enjoying the game, playing a few hours a day and have plenty of content left to explore. First game in a while I've remained so enthusiastic about two months in.

Anyone who has been around MMORPGs long enough knows that you hit "walls" where your enthusiasm slackens and "hills" where the initial slog to overcome play habits and expectations from your previous game can become difficult.

I have to wonder how many of those people who abandoned WAR after the first month (or even the first week) have played any MMORPG for more than a month? Or, at least, any MMORPG other than WoW for more than a month?

This game offers tons of content and appeals to a number of different play styles. Sometimes, a game just can't fit your personal preferences and tastes. (On paper, I should love EQ2, but there is just something about it that always turns me cold). If that's the case, fine. However, don't then take it upon yourself to decide the game can't be for others, just because it isn't for you!

This is the most capable title in some time and offers plenty for most MMORPG gamers. Well, other than the ones that can NEVER find their way through more than the first month of a MMORPG title. Some people are just pursuing the wrong genre.

I love how these people bash the graphics. There good, if you think otherwise you really need to step outside for a while, not everyone can see everything as 10010101001010101

Why play a dumb down version of WOW when you can play the real thing ?  WAR is WOW without 90% of the features.

I can't see this thread as anything other than an attempt to get people fired up. Seriously, what response were you HOPING for by starting this? hmmm? You didn't like the game, that's cool. Your perogative. You're no doubt going to tell me now that many other people didn't like it either... that may be true as well. If that gives you some kind of bizarre satisfaction, that's great too, but the fact is, I'm enjoying the game. I play nightly and haven't had this much fun in a while so while I respectfully acknowledge your opinions, why don't you show me the same courtesy and not create threads like this in the hopes that fans of the game will fire back at you. Seriously, find a new hobby.

I can't see this thread as anything other than an attempt to get people fired up. Seriously, what response were you HOPING for by starting this? hmmm? You didn't like the game, that's cool. He made a similar hate starter thread by "greyooff" in the WoW forums a/b WoTLK being to easy and starting a ruckus there as well....
