(Edit: about WoW) Everyone who say that it was better when you could see, who was the hardcore raider, on the gear they had on.... Just lol... What is that shit about, Who got the biggest e-peen????? seriously, HC raiders need to stop whining, go back to their cave. They are just ego trippers, they want to be full epiced while everyone else is in full blues, so they can run around and say "STFU N00B I PWNZOR U!!!" .... ohh thats great mate, but you also shit your pants cause raid leader wont let u BIO in the middle of your run. smelly monkeys.

You shouldn't be able to use a welfare work around (heroics/ten mans) and have the same Item level gear as a hardcore player. Why not just take all gear from the game? its worthless anyways right? since everyone can get the same shit. All wow is is one big gear fashion show, always has been and always will be. It doesn't really matter, Blizzard NGE'd my old WoW (Pre-tbc) its not worth playing anymore.

Metalhead, have you been in a position of authority in the raiding guilds that have access to these gear? If you did, you'd know that the first priority is progress, not the gear themselves. But in order to have progress you need to work on your gear. Unfortunately, life as it is, you lose raiders down the line for whatever reason. And you have to replace them, in order to keep on having progress. What you're suggesting is an ever closing circle of raiders and people that are barred access because their gear does not contribute to the progress as much as poaching from other raiding guilds would. In all honesty I would prefer a fresh player that would need some upgrades (but not a zero to max gear makeover) than go around canibalising the limited population of the remaining raiding guilds. It's all about retention and how easy it is to keep the raiding alive by injecting new population into it. If there was a huge gap between raider and non-raider gear, you'd also see big gaps in progress as the raiding guilds would stall in order to elevate the new members up to their standards. All in all, having comparable gear uptainable outside raiding actually helps the raiding guilds towards progress, in the not so unfrequent case of having to look for new recruits everytime they lose members due to casualisation. |

There is no e-peen in WoW any more really. Anyone with a pulse can kill all the bosses and get all the epix, all they have to do is log on and show up, it's really not an achievement at all to kill anything in WOTLK. |

Yeah, I'm really horrified I have to bring my friends to raids these days instead of be able to tell them "tough luck" because they aren't class x with spec Y.
Horrible horrible change to the game |

Wow is the hardest MMORPG ever ... to have the highest PvP gear, because it is based on a personal rating system and using a ladder. This means PvP wise it's the hardest MMO game ever. Only the few elite (out of a 180.000 players) will have the best PvP gear in the game. Blizzard made a system where you can calculate the top PvP players on 18 realms(servers) , making for an unprecedented award system that is unmatched in any other subscription based MMORPG. PVE is but one means of playing, but I doubt Blizzard will give this top of the top PVE status away in the content that will lead up to Arthas and its 2 other raids coming shortly. I applaud that the entry Raids are easier now. They motivate people to keep playing. We need that motivation when the big things will come in rolling, like TBC Sunwell did. But the PvP personal rated gear proves that Blizzard also targets the very hardcore in this industry. NO other game is tougher to obtain the highest PvP gear than WotLK. Rest assured it will be the same thing with PVE when nearing Arthas as the Lich King. |

I think its funny how people say WOW is so easy to get gear. On my server (fenris) 1. There is not a single player with a personal rating over 2200. We must be in a tough battlegroup or something, but this means not a single player on our server has earned the 'best' pvp gear yet. The ladder system is much better for determining the best pvpers than just using something like 'grinding' scenerios all day. 2. There was not a single guild that cleared Sunwell. Which means, a month ago, there was not a single player with the best pve gear. Naxx is an introductory raid. Not only was it on farm for 6 months on the beta server, but many of the encounters are the same as they were before BC. Naxx was put there to get more people involved with the raidng aspect of the game and give them an easy dungeon to get started in. It is definitely not the 'end' of pve in Wrath. |
