Top 5 MMOs: |
Just make TR f2p, add a AD system and maybe a social cash shop. transfer all the characters to 1 server and let it rake the money in. makes no sense to close the game down when It could be converted to F2p and be alot better than 99% of the other F2p games on the market.

I agree. I thought that this game would be an excellent match for F2P when it launched. |

I dont think that NCSoft would be a good match for this game, if it were to go F2P. They have too much baggage with this game, and it would forever hinder the game. They might be willing to let go of the title to another publisher, and it could get a fresh start, and the chance to do better. |

Anyone who wants to go into outer space is not playing with a full deck! (Example: Richard Garriot) |

The thing about that is that they probably won't let go of the game because of the baggage they have with it. This is probably their biggest failure to date. Auto Assault was a flop too, but it wasn't that well known and they didn't hire a famous developer to put his name on it. If they sell TR to another publisher they probably have to split the cash with RG since his name is still on the game and if you were in their shoes would you want to give that guy any more money? I sure wouldn't. |

Well, he might be happy to not have his name associated with them anymore either. The separation wasnt totally amicable. |

I still can't understand why NCsoft never opted for a station access type subscription plan, it's not like they don't have a good catalogue of games to add to such a thing. |

It amazes me the number of people who voice their opinion when they dont know what they are talking about. NCSoft didnt hire R.G to make T.R - he was already making T.R and they bought his company - Destination Games. I agree on the station pass thing. If they had one of those I would pick it up so my Kids could play CoX and T.R - thus they get game purchases (CoX) and a subscription. RIght now they get nothing. I played T.R from beta through to August this year - and whilst I enjoyed the game as a casual player - there was no replayability. So once I had maxed a character there was no reason to do another as the content was all the same. Currently playing WAR. |
