Darkfall

All I seem to hear about is how smart the goblins are. This leads me to believe they have only finished ONE small starting zone with goblins and all the people that are in "beta" (if there is one) can only play in that zone. This reminds me of Age of Conan long time ago when they did these press events where they only showed Tortage beach because other content was bugged or missing.

How can any sane person think Darkfall will launch this year? Look at the facts:

- No marketing
- No credible beta leaks
- No info about launch date
- No info about a LOT of stuff

Do I need to go on?

And this latest "review" by 2 italian forum guys is a complete joke. I actually laughed out loud when I heard about it. It still puts a smile to my face . What are we going to have next? Three Eskimo forum guys telling us how they joined beta servers from their iglu?

I really hope I am wrong. If they DO lauch and the game is awesome, II will come back here and admit I was wrong. Unfortunately all the evidence points to the fact that DF is still on VERY early stages of alpha/beta.

If I were a betting man, I would say they will launch at the end of 2009 with tons of bugs still in the game.

Luckily, we don't really care what you believe, so Darkfall can release this year (or shortly after) complete as a game and make us all happy.

I very doubt OP is a girl in first place..forum handle is clearly misleading here ...

However the conclusion of the press members is

"In conclusion: Darkfall exists, is really innovative and seems to confirm his plans. While we were trying it, here in Athens, we didn’t have any surprise, just confirmations: the game is really interesting, we’ve never seen something like this 'till now, and seems to be ready to realize its promises."

btw.. for the full review we have to wait till they return to Italy and to their office to write it ...

 I don't understand what was so laughable about it.  You do know that Italy is a pretty important country, right?  It's not nearly as "backwoods" as your eskimo example. 

I guess I understand your post, and I doubt a release this year too, but...why does any of this matter?

What does it matter if they are done yet or not? if they are credible or not? they haven't taken anyone's money really, if they release later then they've said they will...oh well they are certainly not the first to push back there release date.  If the game sucks, oh well they would be only the 1 millionth mmo release to be really hyped and then completely suck.  If the game releases with tons of bugs well they would fit right in on this webpage with all the others that have released this year.

IF they release on time and the game has bugs everyone will complain endlessly that they should have waited longer, if they wait longer everyone will complain they break ALL there promises and its total vaporwear.

The fact is The devs at Darkfall owe you nothing.  They can release in a month or in a year it doesn't really matter.  Maybe the game will deliver maybe it will suck we can speculate endlessly (and we have) but in the end only time will really tell.

Personally I fall somewhere in the middle.  I dont think Darkfall is vaporwear, I dont think it will be released this year (in the us anyways, however I REALLY hope I'm wrong here).  I think the game will be good, maybe not as good as everyone hopes, but I think it will be decent, but in the end only time will tell.

Goblins?   I guess most folks just skimmed through the beta testers reviews; or is that previews.   There were Ork Beastmasters, freaky bird-men, and hivekin mentioned.

Gameplay trailer, greek developers conference, live presentation, greek media coverage (tv and newspaper) and now the beta review - enough for me.
- No credible beta leaks

That doesn't make any sense
- No info about launch date

When it's finished. Or are you that eager for another rushed guesstimate they wont keep?

Info's more than enough. Give open beta.

Yep people like the OP just read what they want to read.

I also find it funny that there are now terms like "credible beta leaks".  Btw there was a beta leak posted here earlier that may have gotten taken down.

Basically showing a screenshot that wasnt suppose to be released that showed global chat discussion etc..
