I'm really liking the Rune Keeper.

For me, it's like the Bright Wizard character in WARhammer, but I can heal myself and I don't have to worry about blowing myself up while casting. (which was kinda funny sometimes, I must admit)

I think they did a good job with it so far but (personal QQ here-) I HATE LORE RULES!!!

I want to be a human Runekeeper! I don't like any more elves (if I never see another fake Vulcan in my lifetime, it won't be too soon) so I picked a nice short, squatty 'dorf' to muck around with. kinda funny though. A dwarve wearing floppy hats and cloth.

But overall, it's fun to play. Haven't done the Warden yet. Gonna leave my 50LRM and 50MINS right where they are.

Playing Runekeeper too. Mine is level 15 now and so far it has been a bit of dissapointment. Too low damage for very low survivability and no emergency skills/spells. It's like playing a gimbed hunter tbh. Hopefully things change at higher levels.

"Eye for an Eye"

Think the Runekeep is your tradition "squishy" class dps or buff debuffer. So I would recommend playin it that , and not try to be a Minstrel or LoreMaster with it.  From what I've gathered ffrom my kinship, the DPS is pretty good...

I like the RK, but they have to up the dmg output a bit IMO.

Hmm.. I actually thought it had survives too well.

With a constant rune HoT heal, two personal Hot heals (that stack btw), a 70% slow on mob, a touch mez that lasts from 5-10 secs.. so far it has quite a bit of craftiness.

Drop a rune, personal HoT, cast 70%, cast slow fire, then run through your lighnting chains.. the guy doenst really die at this level (17). When you factor in the class weapon Rune plus the 10% dmg buff,, with the right gear its really just as good as a hunter. (have a 24 hunter as well). I didn't see much dropoff.

The casting times are not bad, the only prob is if you get adds.. then you touch mez one, slow cast the other then run. Usually youll make it out. Looks like the hunter is still stronger, but I'll have to wait til I hit 24 to compare actually. It's still early yet, and of course theres no telling what endgame spells will do for overall damage.

I do agree as long as you don't think youre a minstrel or lrm, you can do pretty well.

Still reminds me a lot of a low powered Bright Wizard from Warhammer. Having to watch your gauge to make sure youre not too far on one side if youre not spose to be.

May have to rethink of creating one of these. On release night there was tons and tons of RKs everywhere, so I went with the underdog and made a warden and it is actually ok.

So far I've made it to 10 without dying on a warden. Are you pretty squishy as a RK if you all of a sudden get a lot of mobs on you?

Playing: AoC, DDO, LOTRO, DR, GameTap.

Oh yeah, youre still a squishy. You wear only cloth. (Quite funny to see a dwarf wearing cloth). The hunter wears medium armor so hes a bit tougher.

But it still looks like to me that their firepower is equal.
The only difference is the hunter is getting bang usually upfront, while the RK has to slowly build it up through the attunement and he gets more powerful the longer a fight goes (which makes it pretty good for tanks, gives em time to build some hate).

So if you get jumped, youre definitely at a disadvantage over a hunter.
