1. You're playing on the wrong server.

2. You're playing at the wrong time.

3. What guild are you in? Join a better one, your's obviously isn't active enough!

3. All WAR players use vent, DUHH.

4. Join a scenario!

These excuses speak volumes about the game design and executive direction; something is very wrong here.

God forbid someone would want to experience content outside of scenarios, (you know in an alive persistant world) and socialize with, meet, and befriend new players along the way. I think the war advocates here have a very warped view of what an MMORPG really is.

The comments from the haters and trolls are equally humorous.  Instead of stating the obvious (Mythic was a little over-ambitious and had far too many servers spreading the population far too thin after the launch population dropped down) they jump to the conclusion that the game is fundamentally flawed, the devs don't know what they're doing, and that the game is no longer in the same genre any more.

I agree that the population issue is indeed an issue on all servers.  Some just don't feel it quite as badly as others.  The game could stand to have half as many servers as it does, though.  Any server that isn't fairly consistently at high/high is going to leave players short-changed and lonely in one tier or another.

Are you really trying to say that Mythic over estimated the number of servers in NA by 26!  That is how many servers they are trying to move population off and merge with other server populations.  That is slightly under half of their total servers.

It was not an over estimation of servers.  800k subscribers they say.  1.2 million copies sold they say.  Higher than expected subscriber retention rate [above 70%].     Fastest selling MMO release in history.  Every single word out of Mythics mouth is about success beyond their expectations, but for some reason they launched twice the amount of servers they needed?

DaoC, EQ2, DnL, WoW, GW, SWG, AC, Tibia, WAR - atm: EvE and LotRO

Not really, WAR is exceptionally good at giving everyone the possibility to _not_ communicate or socialize at all.

Sure in many modern games you don't need teamwork like you do when playing in one of the larger EvE corps, but about every game needs more teamplay than WAR, because in WAR, you can do 100,0% of the content solo or by joining an automated pickup group you don't even have to say "hi" to.

I would personally disagree with your premise.

I don't think it matters what people think an MMO should be. The ony thing that matters is that people are having fun.

What you're looking for in an MMORPG is different from what others are looking for. That's fine. You don't like Warhammer, that's also fine, but why do you feel the need to put down the people who do like the game? Is you own self worth somehow tied to what games other people are playing and enjoying?

Also, why is everyone who plays and enjoys the game considered to be a fanboi? Am I am fanboi? I play the game daily, I have a guild that I run with, we're all having a great time. I recognize that the game has flaws, but that doesn't make me foam at the mouth and I feel that it's worth my money and at the same time I respect the fact that you feel it isn't worth yours. Does that make me a fanboi? Just curious.

Thinking about following you back personally :)

The community in WAR is the worst ive seen, if you can even call it a community.

No one talks, anywhere, for any reason, and when you do manage to get maybe 1 response, its almost always coming from the mouth of a 10 year old who likes to piss people off.

Yeah this is the best decision Ive made in a long time. lol  After trying out countless games, Im seriously going to keep playing this till SE releases their new MMO.  It seems every game that has released since WoW has  No teamwork at all, just a solofest. Same old borring combat, just the same damn game but different skin.

Same here, actually.

I tried WAR and there's much I like about it.

It just doesn't grab me like FFXI has. No other MMO has - and there's easily 30+ now that I've tried.

So, that's not a knock against WAR so much as it is a testament to that "something" about FFXI that keeps me coming back. Not to dismiss anyone else, but I think only those who are equally engrossed in the game can fully understand what I mean heheh.

I will keep checking out WAR though. I think it's a game I can enjoy myself in... I just think it needs to cook a bit more.

Well not to dis-agree with you Jon but he did say "WAR players and fanboi's"

Whatever game you play there are always fanboi's that would walk over burning coal to stop you saying anything bad about "there" game.

At the moment I am enjoying FM2009 and that game has a few problems but the "fanboi's"(yep I said it) would rather say it is the players fault rather than the games.

As for the poster I do agree with him to a certain degree,If players blindly keep saying "its your server"or "join a scenario" they think they are helping the game when indeed they are not.

But I do agree not everyone that enjoys playing a game should be labled a fanboi, different horses for different courses, though I think you are turning a blind eye if you dont see some people posting that the game is great and the fault lies with the player.

This is sad, the game is awful for soloing, especially as an engineer (1/4 of my life gone fighting one mob unless I can get some space which rarley happens)

I dont want this game to be a ghost town but I havent played at all cause evertime i log in it's the same story.

W-T-F-?

You want my honest opinion? Most of the people who bought WAR were ex-DAoC fans looking for a DAoC 2, which WAR is definitely not. Sure, the remaining players are probably die hard table top WAR fans, but they don't seem to understand MMO's are about teamwork or something. I was so hyped for this game upon release, hoping to have a RvR game like DAoC but without all the cross-realming and low server populations. Well, I got 1/2 of what I was looking for anyways, but the RvR just doesn't excite me like it does in DAoC. I think it's too blah, pointless, easy, hard to get to or whatever. Probably why everyone plays scenarios, huh?

This.

I'm sorry. I'm a huge Warhammer fan and I was pumped about this game, but it's just boring. So boring I cancelled both it and my WoW account to go back to something better.

Nobody talks. Why talk when you can just join an open party and then bail out when your scenario pops? Why talk when gear falls like rain? I stood in a quest hub and tried to give away equipment in local and in tells, and no one pays attention.

Why pretend to have any economy at all? Crafting is a joke. A bad joke. "Gear is everywhere" should be the new catchphrase. And who needs food or furnishings? Do bows even need arrows? I can't be bothered to find out

Realm control is pointless. Who cares? You get a bonus to.... some stuff no one cares about. FFXI has a conquest system that gives you access to telepoints and trading posts and merchants you wouldn't otherwise have, and it's not an RvR game at all. Oh, wait, that would mean you'd have to have a realm. With people gathering and fishing and crafting and selling. And talking occasionally.

Really, for my money this needs to be a F2P FPS or it needs a complete overhaul into a decent mmoRPG

(PS > Markoraos, go ahead and call me a "Johnny-One-Post" just so I can rob you of the satisfaction)
