(group) Which would you enjoy more?
See the group option wasn't as efficient but you sure had fun. That is the reward of grouping, you have more fun.
No, a better analogy would be there are girls sunning in the parking lot too. The fun in a group is not just being in a group for no reason. The fun in a group is organizing it because you can take on challenges you could not solo. But why do taht just to get less xp? That would be dumb. If I just want to chat, I can do taht solo while I look at the chat channels.

I think the thing that always snapped me about grouping in WOW was that too many people were rolling on gear they couldnt use.....Id be playing a paladin and a mage would roll on a plate helm I was trying to get....Then Id hear the "oh well I need the money" or "Im an enchanter and have jsut as much right to it as those who can wear it blah blah blah"........The only time grouping ever worked well for me was in Everquest where I knew alot of the players and often it was no drop and did them no good anyway....... WOW was easily the worst game I ever played for grouping though as far as the quality of the players that I grouped with....... |

"I personaly feel this topics shows HOW people these day's play these games, I mean they are worried about abit of XP, they are worried it takes time to creat a group. " Well, if you are refering to my post above yours as an example then yeah... I think 6 HOURS to run a 1 HOUR instance is a big problem. Unlike many it seems, I have a life. It may not be much, but I can think of better ways to spend 6 hours... like actually playing the game, for instance? When I used to raid, I was required to log on (by guild mandate) at 5pm. I usually logged on at about 4:30 to 4:45 to be ready. Sadly, I was a very rare individual in that about 30 other folks couldn't tell time or wrap up something in a timely manner. These raids were scheduled ahead of time too, so everyone knew when they were going to be. The rub was the earliest the raids ever started was 7pm with a couple not getting going till 8:30! I make no apologies, that kind of waiting around is total BS. Period. Then... add in the time standing around while the raid leaders plan their next big strategy...watching Lucifron doing laps for an hour and a half (no lie) is NOT my idea of fun. In short, my day from 4:30pm to about 1AM to 2AM was tied up on these Molten Core raids. I found I cared not as much about getting no gear and nothing but repair bills, then I did when the realization set in that If I spent that time I raided working, at an even low paying fast food job, I would actually have something to show for it... like a paycheck. What I just mentioned has nothing to do with jealousy...nada..nothing..zip. If that makes me impatient then so be it. |

Without a doubt, group xp should receive a bonus. One would think that the game developer would want to implement bonus even if only for the purpose of encouraging multi-playing(multiple subscriptions/boxing). I am guided by the concept of xping should be easy even if solo, but even easier if grouped. It is silly that a duo group is earning so much less than a solo'er. Choice of class isn't relevant, all classes should be able to earn xp equally(depending on how busy the person is with their fingers and hotbuttons). |

LOL ... here you go buddy the definition of a GROUP group (grp) KEY NOUN: An assemblage of persons or objects gathered or located together; an aggregation: a group of dinner guests; a group of buildings near the road. well holy crap look at that! another definition for you fail(fl) KEY VERB: To prove deficient or lacking; perform ineffectively or inadequately: failed to fulfill their promises; failed in their attempt to reach the summit. ok i added the last one but really your name should definatley be under its definition. |

In the good 'ol EQ1 days, groups were the only way to get decent experience, so (almost) everyone grouped all the time. Grouping was much more enjoyable then because people were generally more considerate, less demanding and were in it for the long-haul. The reason people were better-behaved was because reputation was important. No group would have you if your reputation was bad. I remember having to wait in line for a spot to open in a group. If people didn't like you, your chances of getting a spot were minimal. With Wow (and similar games), reputation is not that important. You can change your name, change your server, or just roll another character and get back to level 70 (80 now) in a matter of weeks. Or you can just solo from 1-80, no problem. So it's little surprise that grouping has become so painful in this day and age. |

Help someone who can not return the favor. |
I could be wrong, but it sounds like the OP expects grouping to yield the best of both worlds (exp and loot) no matter the number of players. Unfortunately that's just how most games are today. So far the only game I have played that encourages grouping by giving more experience and better loot is Atlantica Online. Give that a whirl if you don't like how WoW has their group system set. |
