"My days of not taking you seriously are certainly coming to a middle" - Firefly

As a general rule if you browse our forums here you will find that the forum for every game is filled with flames of that game, complaints about how terrible it is.. etc.  The only postive threads you find are for games we havent got our hands on yet =P.

So lets post on this thread about what game we are CURRENTLY enjoying (no use reminiscing about days past) for the benefit of others seeking a good gaming experience.

I recently returned to WoW (much against my will) and I'm surprised to find I'm enjoying it again.  WoW is certainly the highest quality MMO ever made and it deserves to be king of the hill.  I wish someone else would come up with a new product with this level of quality... something sandbox-ish would be nice.

You might have your wish in Darkfall. Next year certainly does show some promise.

I too am enjoying WoW.

Lets face it, MMOs today are turning into single player console games with a chat box included.

Id be happy if I could find one game that suits me. 10 years in the genre and all Ive got to show for it is disappointment and a sour stomach.

I am enjoying FFXI quite a bit. It's very refreshing to goto a game with a community as awesome as theirs. I've come to realize gameplay mechanics/graphics pale in comparison to community and immersion for me personally. This is why I loved everquest so much back in the day because of the awesome community and world. FFXI has exceeded my expectations on what a good MMO community should be like. Additionally, I think the gameplay mechanics strike a nice balance from being too archaic/difficult or too modern/easy. My only gripe initially would be the limited UI. This is the only MMO I have ever complained about the UI but I have learned to adapt and work with it.

If you''re going to be crazy, you have to get paid for it or else you''re going to be locked up.

Well recently went back to FFXI, which was my first MMO back in '03 and a game I played  longer than any other MMO.  There is just no other game out there that  is anything like it. The combat system is different then any game out on the market.

No game has captured my attention and has never felt as epic as FFXI, going out  adventuring with friends unlocking advanced jobs and nothing in this game comes easy. I just started hatching my chocobo egg and its going to take a month in real time until im going to be able to ride it.

I don't feel like my hand is being held in this game. I don't know where Im going to run into my next quest since there is nothing marking the NPC quest givers. I also love how when you get quests you get a cut scene to go along with what your reading. Which to me is awesome, and is very immersive, you see the npc's talking to you and each other.  Which is another unique thing I love about this game.

This IMHO is the best game out there and Ive played just about every P2P MMO out there.

Playing Guild Wars. Waiting for Fallen Earth and SE new MMO.

Currently I'm enjoying Age of Conan, which have been the game of my choice since launch. The game has been through a bumpy ride, but is now shaping up nicely, which more and more people are discovering every day.

Why do people say that WOW is the highest quality MMO ever made when its probably had more downtime then any MMO ever made? WOW evolved into a polished game but it was far from it at release. Of course any game this OLD is going to be polished. I played WOW for about 2 years off and on. Came back to max out with TBC for about a month and quit again do to boredom and lack of PVP . Battlegrounds are not PVP and i hated watiing in line for them. I would also like to point out that over half of the WOW subscriber base is the Asian market. It appeals more to that market then the U.S. Market but hey dollars are dollars. The game is polluted by gold farmers a HUGE negative to any MMO economy.

I thought about trying  WOTLK but i know in about a month i'll have seen or done it all and be back to square 1 bored with the game.

Sorry, but posting in every thread that the game you want is Darkfall just seems like trolling to me. It wouldn't matter what the topic was, gear, pvP, sandbox, etc., you should wait for Darkfall.

And the OP specifically asked for games you were CURRENTLY playing. Are you CURRENTLY playing Darkfall? If not, then wtf??!!

Anyways, I'm not playing an MMO at the moment, but I am enjoying Fallout 3. It's a great RPG, although it's single player and I would rather be online with other players.

And yet you are still here. Something's bringing you back! Come on! You got 10 years of experieince behind you. Tell us what you LIKE about the games. If you could pick the best elements from each and make the Miracle Game, what would you choose? No whining now - the whining thread is the next one over.
