Look, clearly this game does offer its players something at the higher levels that they can't get in other games - or so you keep telling us - the problem with it is that for a lot players, it's so mind-numbingly repetitive and boring in the long early stages that they never get to the higher levels. This is a niche title - perhaps the best way to put it is, it's just not for everyone. |

This game also offers a lot to players with far less experience than the old timers. I avoid the use of the term levels as it is meaningless in EVE. With far less investment in time than in any other MMO I have played I can participate in both solo and gang PvP, something I have been unable to do (effectively) in any other game, even with considerably moe time played. IMO, EVE is the best MMO on the market today, and I have played most of the major ones, and a few minor ones as well. |

Don''t reply to me or quote me if you can''t do so without breaking Forum TOS cause I will report you! |
I'm back to playing now that I've eliminated the problem if can flippers. Actually switched to doing missions today for a break from mining and that went pretty well except for the bugged mission which is going to cause me a faction hit, but oh well. I still stand by what I say because it happened to me. I'm only here to state that Eve Online is not new player friendly and please stop telling people with less than 1 million skill points that they can kill people with 10+ million skill points cause thats a flat out lie, lol. |

Hey, whatever you say, I'm sure you'd know. What I know is, my char with 8 mil SP was flying a very well fit frigate (all T2 weapons and mods, faction ammo, excellent support skills) and I lost it to a 2 week old player in a cruiser who had a great counter to my frigate. He went half into structure, but my frig was the one that ended up popping. So, ya never know what's possible until you try. |

Having invested 42 hours in the acquisition of Object X (whether it be real or virtual), one ordinarily finds oneself put out a bit if Object X is stolen or lost due to malfeasance. It's human nature. Even when Object X is some virtual object in a game, the feeling of loss is there because of a feeling of "time wasted." (Of course, the object is to "waste time" in the first place, since the hours invested are presumably leisure time. If they're not leisure time...well, you do the math.) |

Which is why Eve players are tought, only fly what you are willing to loose. If something takes you more than 2-3 hours to build up - you really shouldn't be flying it in the first place. If you spent 200m per implant in your head, you really should invest in jump clones. Simple as that.
People are not used MMOs where the actions you take have a consequence. In fact, people for the most part today do not understand what consequences are. In Eve, preparaion is key since it is a form of strategy game. In prepaaration, you have many chances to think and rethink your actions. A new player taking their chances in a Badger II through a low sec system even though there have been no pod kills recently is foolish. But - it happens all the time and people don't want to accept blame for their actions and post on the forums saying how its Eve's fault. |

in fact the pilgrim is a lovely boat that can take out battleships. |

The meaning of life is attained by caring for the one you have created. Papa for life!!! |
It all depends on your limitations while playing eve. Next is actually knowing those limitations and pushing them, to learn just how far they go. I have under 2million sp. I don't go past 0.4 space. I cant afford to lose my ships right now. I spend all my cash on blueprints and new books, while i make all my missiles and other needed ship items. I'm a solo player at the moment. Am i a carebear hell no, but I'm not stupid either. Sure i can pvp probably just fine. I make my frigz and my launchers and rail guns and ammo. I own all the cruisers and destroyer and all the frigs i can build my self as I've stated. But its not consistent, I've trained heavy into learning so I'm lacking in many things. But a lvl 5 frig is only 8-9 days to train from zero I've been pked once and lost a missile cruiser. in .03 space. So there are my limits till i get done training my select skills to maintain that playstyle.
This is very important for a solo player like myself, till i get into a good facilitated corp.
Its not that tough to pvp. warp scramble, vamp and fire away and loot.
I know my limits. Now learn yours, and you'll have nothing to bawl about. Also you know there are EVE official forums right? Good luck with the "poor me" convention. |
