Ok guys, here's the issue, I want to start playing a new mmorpg after quite some time off of them because of work. Which mmorpg(s) do you recommend and why?

Thanks!

Without any sort of guidelines as to what sort of gameplay you enjoy its pretty much an impossible task.

Ok, ok, i can see im pretty much not going anywhere like this so ill try to give some guidelines:
Fantasy, possibly 3D, medium to high number of members, is that enough or do you need more?

I intend to live forever -- So far so good!

What I believe they're asking of you is to state if you like heavy group play, roleplaying, player versus player competition, if you would just like to kill AI monsters and advance through gathering of all kinds of loot, how much time you have to play and how much you're willing to dedicate to the game.  That sort of stuff.

Now using the above, try again.

In my opinion there are no MMOs worth playing out at this time. A lot of people seem to like WoW so you could give that a try, you certainly wouldn't have problems with it being empty.

LoTR seems to get a lot of good reveiws by people too.

I wouldn't bother with WAR as it seems to be going through a transitory period. It may shape up eventually, but right now it's not worth it IMO.

I went back to AoC for a while, but it felt pretty empty and I grew bored with it in a short time.

Eve is pretty boring unless you like doing a lot of the same things all the time. The scenery never really changes, and the combat is rather tactical and dull.

So right now I am playing Left 4 Dead. It's fun, but it's an FPS not an MMO.

I'm waiting for STO, SW:TOR, DC Universe, and Champions. Hopefully one of them will be good.

Ok, following this as a guideline:

Not really a big fan of roleplaying, i do like some group play and pvp action, but also i dont mind just killing mobs, a good mixture of both would be nice. I have, now that i dont work, a loooooot of free time in my hands and i can dedicate pretty much 100% to the game.
