I tried Age of Conan. Great graphics. Beheadings were cool the first 15 times I saw it. I made a few alts, leveled a guy to 65. But I just couldn't bring myself to log in anymore. There was something missing. I think it was just too linear and broken.
Then I bought Warhammer Online. PvP system seemed cool at first, till I realized everyone just randomly plays those really lame scenarios. Played Warhammer for 2 months. Quit. Again, just something missing.
Here I am back in Eve again, and really loving it again. It's the player driven economy, the danger, the open endedness. There are no mmo's that have even COME CLOSE to the vast options Eve offers you.
I have decided to quit wasting my money buying new MMO's as every one completely dissapoints me. Eve has ruined any other game I try. |

I came to the same conclusion, but I did it after getting totally bored with WoW. That's good, 'cause I saved some cash not buying Conan and Warhammer. I consider myself an EVE lifer now. :) |

Same.
I really doubt I will even try anything else at this point. If I want a change of pace I'll just go play Fallout 3 or something similar. |

It's impossible for me to play a game with almost no risk in its pvp system after playing Eve. I've tried so hard, but no game has my heart thumping through my chest during a pvp encounter like Eve online.
WAR = die respawn, die respawn, die respawn, die respawn ect, ect then collect your gear for sucking. WoW= WAR without the world pvp Lotro = no pvp at all TR= blew ass AoC= pvp was broken when I played so I left.
Yeah so Im back playing Eve and UO Freeshard for my FFA fix |

Yeah. The no death penalty dynamic is really the main factor. It is just ridiculous to think you just infinitely respawn with like a -.02% penalty to health unless you talk to a healer.
With Eve, the cloning sytem makes sense. If you are too lazy or forgetful, you get hurt. Plus you lose implants and your ship. |

And the same for me. I love that it's one of the few MMOs that is actually designed for massive numbers of players instead of just a single player game where you can group up with five others in a massively sharded town. That and the meaningful PvP, player driven economy, and non-linerality of it all. |

I've tried playing this game several times. But I hate my toon being stuck in that ship....I need to walk around. I get to claustrophobic. |

Although I don't have time for any MMORPG now, I've tried different games during my first Eve break. Guild Wars lasted 3 weeks, then there was that horrible Sony game I and the same game II, which names I can't even remember. Then it was WoW which was also boring. Eventually I've returned to Eve. I miss Eve even today, but I this time I think I won't be back. I can't play the game as just a casual player after what I've seen and wars I've fought in Eve, but I simply don't have time for anything more than casual gaming now... |
