Server Merges are finally coming !!!

This is very good !

Alot of players have been waiting for this moment, and i know that alot of players will come back to AOC after the merges are done.

I strongly recommend people to buy AOC after the merges are done, and in December (very soon) the new BIG patch will come with alot of new stuff !

Lol you get paid to start these threads?

Any news whether they will offer a free month to old players? I doubt ill go back so im not gonnna pay just to check it out...

I'm guessing they are hoping people will come back this Christmas. It's not a coincidence that they started server merges at the beginning of December when thye easily could have done it earlier. December is their "big month" and they hope to turn the game around before the year ends.

But once they see players spent their christmas money elsewhere, they will give us that free playtime. Expect to see that free playtime email in January or early February. I just hope we can use them whenever we want because I'm taking 6 months break from Conan.

Completely wrong. Merges are a good thing.

People leaving a game after trying it out at launch is normal. And especially as AoC has about 50 servers (25 US and 25 Euro), this is way too much.

Merging when it needs to be done and acting fast on it is the signs of good management. I.ex: look at WAR, they merged after the 1st month.

The sign of failure is what Funcom did (other games like Vanguard did the same mistakes). Instead of merging as soon as possible when it was needed they have waited 5 months.... so we had 5 months of subpar gameplay due to the lack of players on the servers.

"Also after the merges are complete we will be opening up new ‘fresh start’ servers in both the US and EU territories. One each for PVE and PVP rulesets. Transfer will not be allowed to these servers after the merges. These new servers are designed to allow players to start afresh in a totally new environment should they wish to do so and forge a new community instead of joining one of the newly merged ones."

After all the bugs and exploits some have taken advantage of this is some good news.

Merging to one server? Population still big enough for more than one?
