I think it would be interesting if you could actually land on the planets in the EVE universe to prospect mining sites, hide from enemies and such.
I think the idea of adding the ability to fly through the atmosphere of various planets and then landing would be insanely fun  It would add an incredible amount of depth to the universe, economy and overall game. + it would keep CCP busy while they add all of the new content to the universe. Looking for constructive ideas/comments. |

You mean like this: Linkage That is from a proof of concept demo shown at the 2004 Fanfest. I would be posting some additional concept art of ground installations, but CCP's 'art' server has been down for the last few days.
Combine this with the Ambulation Project (walking in stations) that will be released after Revelations and a whole lot of possibilities open up. |

I agree that I long till that is implemented.
As I recall they actually have a great many plans for EVE. Their goal is more or less to make EVERYTHING interactable. |

Ambulation will be in the expansion after the last chapter Revelations is released at the end of this year, and Planetary Flight is scheduled as the next main project after that. In other words, Not Quite Soon™. CCP will be demoing their work on the Ambulation Project at the GDC this week, so there will be some videos out eventually. |

No EVE news yet from the GDC (surprisingly very little news at all so far, I hope it picks up soon) but I have found the concept art finally. "outpost" from Björn Börkur Eiríksson's site.
"minmatar-installation" ..from Asgeir Jon Asgeirsson's site.
I'll update once I find it.

I wish it didn't take so long for CCP to implement things...
I understand that the universe is huge and there are TONS of stations/planets and modifications to be made for everything to work properly... but jeesh... Q4 2008 is a very long time... and they haven't really formally promised anything which really sucks. (Grumbles  ) |
