I notice a lot of people dis on people who want pve in a game.  Ignorantly they call them carebears.  When the whole idea of online play stemmed from people's desire to be able to play pen and paper games online without need to call 6 friends all the way over to your house.  To this day people play pen n paper games over the internet via text, imagine that.  And, I guarantee there are way more of them playing that way than those that sign up for a monthly shot at some dick camping their corpse for 3 hours, or some l33t dude  getting into a pissing contest.

The fact is most sane gamers actually pick games that they can not only play, but call up their friends and tell them what a great story and environment it is, not how some 13 yr old wtfpwned them all day.

This Fury game is trash imho.  Get off your lazy buts, save up 500 bucks and get a xbox 360 and play gears of wars, it's a much better game and it's already done.  Besides, xbox 360 is a tight system.  I personally don't have one.  If you are going to pay for the privilige of getting wtfpwned to the tune of $15.00/month, [ edited ]  let's just say you're stupid.

Let's put this into perspective: i write a program that has character models; fighting gameplay; some scenery and i'm DONE.  and i charge idiots 15.00 bucks a month for that?  dude that's what a 2 man job?  jump gate runs a whole mmorpg on 6 people, including the billing.  I don't have to provide any AI nor story.

you guys are sad.

And that's "One man's opinion"(tm).

Yeah... I don't really get why you say play Gears of War, its fun but not the best I would still rather go halo 2 or Vegas over that

Also some people want a MMO that is PvP don't take offense to that lol.

PVP is essential to me for a way to test out my items and skills ive aquired through pve, whats the point of pveing for hours to get a new sword so u can kill a monster in 8 hits instead of 9 woohoo. the reason people make fun of people who want PVE is because no matter the game, PVE is a Grind. and without PVP its a grind with no end and no purpose.

You seem to be very ignorant in what actually goes on to make one of these games... This isn't just a two man job they can do a couple hours a day after they get off work. It is a long, complicated process involving many talented people to bring something like this to light.

You may not like the game, that's fine, but honestly, don't go around trashing people's work as easy. I don't like WoW, but I don't claim my buddy and I could have made it.

Also, you want us to spend $500 dollars... and then another $60 to play a game that doesn't resemble Fury in any way, shape or form? Instead, we can play the game we want to for $15 bucks a month.

Consoles are trash. They are expensive. They don't do anything NEAR what a computer can do. Their games cost $60 now. You can't mod them. You can't Multi-task. You can't upgrade them, at least, not in any sence of putting in more memory or a new graphics card anytime you want. What is the point? They are inferior, EXPECIALLY for shooters.

I'll get Gears of War for PC, but console shooters just suck. All of them.

I think what is sad is that you just come in and bash people for no reason. Everyone has their personal preference. Get over yourself.

Clearly there's about 2 reasons mmo's [there's no mmorpg that i've seen so far] are a bunch of grind fests so far:

1. the complete lack of imagination on the devs part to come up with a rich story that is so encompassing that it would take years to unravel.

2. along with #1, the complete lack of a companies ideas as to how to keep subscribers in the game paying monthly fees.

I'm not saying the pve system is perfect, I'm saying the IDEA was to fill a perceived and real need.

If you've read the forgotten realm books, most of the super duper heroes use gear they got when they were like lvl 3... or worse lvl 1, like drizzt the most famous of them all.  He's still using stuff he got when he was lvl 0.  Mind you it was twinky stuff, but he was in fact lvl 0, untrained completely.

I personally don't agree with gear fest, grind fest pve systems.  I definately wouldn't pay for the priviledge of providing some developer with their content.

WOW approaches a healthy balance.  In fact on paper their explanation in beta of how their pvp system was going to work sounded astounding.  If I remember correctly, you could take over villages, towns and capitol cities and thereby rule the territory until the other side kicked you out.  That sounded like the most innovative thing i'd ever heard of in a game to date.  Unfortunately they didn't implement that at all.   instead they did battlegrounds.

I never actually played halo, i've seen countless hours of gears of war, and had my friends talk about it on end.  It's got to be hugely popular if what i'm hearing is any indication.

imo if i wtfpwn  you in 2 seconds... ok what do i do for the other 4 hours i set aside to play?  that crap gets old and boring instantly with me.  However, if i have to setup an ambush to wtfpwn you because your'e carrying stolen documents I have to retrieve and make my way back through a dangerous forest to get back to my capitol city to deliver that to my commander, who then gives me a warhorse for my good deed, that'll never get old.

is my scenario in any game right now?  No [and why no one is hiring me as lead developer i don't know] but i'd enjoy it much more than "haha schooled you, i just wtfpwned you".

and thats "One man's opinion"(tm).

I agree with some of the things you are saying, it takes alot more than 2 people to make a good MMO that alot of people play but what you are saying about consoles makes no sense. Consoles are less than half the price of an OK computer (mabye not the PS3)  and yes they can go near to what a computer can do, as a matter of fact they are computers tweaked for gaming I think thats very clear by now. I love my PC and prefer a PC but also own an xbox 360 and if I was to play an MMO I would play it on my PC but Consoles are really good for single player games and fps online. They offer alot more variety to gaming, you can own gamefly beat games and return them and get new ones for only 15 dollars a month, you cant do that on a PC.

You really think that by adding some more memory to something you are making it superior? The 360 has awesome graphics and I really dont understand how it is sooooo much inferior to the PC. Since when are games all about slightly better graphics, what happened to the people who enjoyed and loved playing their atari or they nintendo. And if anything Consoles excel at shooters, as a matter of fact look at the most popular ones, they are Console so please inform your self before you tell someone else to.

I can do alot of stuff onm y 360, talk, vide chat, download my shows, music it play games without having to install them, get achievements and play halo or any other online multiplayer game and invite my friends to it without having to subscribe and make a million of accounts with different sites just to play a different game.

Quote me on this. [note i don't own a console]

"I predict in 5 - 10 years pc's will be obselete for gaming.  Consoles will completely take over.  With the advent of HD widescreen tv's, there will arise HD only games with HD consoles to support them [or visa versa].  The PC's will be primarily used for business only."

As such, pc's are not superior to consoles.  Have you even seen the latest consoles?  I mean all of the latest?  They currently have everything you'd want on your pc WITH the inclusion of ease of portability of the console and the games.

1. online

2. voice over chat

3. typed chat

4. keyboard, mouse, joystick, drive wheel, dance pad, 3d-ui accessory i.e. light saber / guitar / tennis racket / fishing pole / golf club.

5. headset

6. camera

If you want to play ... i mean PLAY a game,  pound for pound i think right now a console beats a computer.  Now add in like the other poster said, trading games with a monthly fee, just like the mail in movie rentals... you can't even do that with pc's.

This wasn't about a pc vs console argument though.  I'm saying, it is silly to pay for the honor of providing someone else with in game content [Asheron's call II anyone?]

It' s a bitter pill to swallow, i'm pointing out what's going on.  It's like the first person in congress that admitted that the war in Iraq had nothing to do with America at all, he was nearly lynched for pointing out the facts.  I"m just pointing out the facts.

The game has no content, and you pvp all day, YOU are the content.  I guarantee they don't have a staff of 50 people.  I'd even venture to say less than 20.  And yes I've seen a game programmed by 2 people, the other 4 were merely support.  But brass tacks, it's the 2 people that actually did the work.
