Firstly remember when you do a "Pre-Order" what your doing is ordering the game so as to get it as soon as it comes out. Now some companies offer bonuses to people who pre-order. Much like Funcom did of special ingame items or stuff. Funcom also offered the chance to help them in their final stage of testing this stage they called Early Access. What is Early Access do you ask its the last big test before going live. Its the rehearsal. In three to six days time they are going to be flooded with players as they open up the world fully to the unwashed masses. This has potential for disaster so they created EA to ensure that they got at least one dry run of this event and a chance to fix any mistakes. Naturally with a test run you don't want too many people you don't want to do a "full" release you want a controlled managable one so that you can iron out the kinks. there were issues this release the patch server went down and prevented people from logging in. They were delayed and some servers had serious lag issues. These have all been fixed, now they will run it for a few days monitoring workloads and checking stability. If they have issues the servers will come down. Remember we on the EA are the final guinea pigs so don't scream if they do come down. For those of you who pre-ordered but didn't get in I am sorry but you will be with us soon, and the game for you will be stable. You will still have you pre-order mount when you reach lvl 40 and those with the CE will still have their other stuff. The client will be stable and hopefully the offical release will be clean because all the kinks will have been resolved before then. Just my 2 cents Gadareth |
