I was in closed beta and open beta and was told all along, byt the devs, that a key would be in the box at release... they never said anything about it not being usable for 2+ months after the fact.

Stupid reason to leave? Probably to some... but for me it was like paying 50 bucks top get kicked in the teeth.

They call this game "a nice steak and wine dinner" (compared to McDonald's) and as I've said in another forum, it could be the best steak in the world but if the cook comes running out and smacks you in the head with a hammer every time you take a bite, well... McDonald's starts to sound better and better.

So they've said "later" and "once the initial surge of players get settled in" and all of that vague crap. Well, that's happened now and still no word on our keys. Doesn't matter now, too late. We've found another game that is keeping us happy. best of luck Funcom, use some KY next time, please.

  I would think it best for them to have the game in a much more solid state before offering any form of trial. As for your steak analogy , if that restaurant were to offer you a taste test . Wouldn't you prefer it at least rare?  Rather than straight from the butcher and raw ?

But I was actually enjoying my time in Conan, was having some fun. Would have been so much more fun with the whole gang there though, and I wasn't about to carry on without them. We've been gaming together since the late 70's / early 80's P&P.

But yeah, i am sure that's why they are holding the keys back... although they'd net a bunch of subs from them...  I'd be willing to bet, simply because a bunch of the players seem to have friends waiting on those keys to ensure it will run on their rigs decently.

I would really appreciate a buddy pass, thanks in advance.

I'm sure this is hopeless but...

I am planning on getting this game in the near future, but don't intend on just forking over $50 just to see if it is for me, and I'm not posting my email on here, so if anyone is kind enough to give a Buddy Pass to a complete stranger, PM me. :)

They aren't giving out buddy keys yet.  Not until the game doesn't look/play like absolute cow dung.  I'd give you the piece of paper that came with my game that says "Go online to get your key" but I used it as toilet paper.  Sorry.

Give the game some time, not every game is completely perfect 7 weeks after launch, just wait til six months from now, this game is going to be the top played! :)
