I quit AoC today. I could list all the reasons why I can no longer play this game ( laughable resource gathering system that botting gold farmers will just love, is just one of many) but, what would be the point? I cannot comment on pvp servers, except to state that the talk at the Thirsty Dog relates that such servers are gankfests. Some of the reasons I quit are: The content for mid-level 30s and mid-level 50s is almost nonexistent. There are necessary ingredients for tier 1 alchemy that do not appear to have been put in the game yet (although I will acknowledge that I only looked for them for 2 weeks). Many of the quests amount to little more than "kill 10 of those kind of bad guys and come back". The free mounts (rhino and mammoth for pre-order and CE owners) were no faster than walking , although the last patch/update gave them MINOR speed boosts. And,while I can understand why FunCom chose to instance their zones, an MMO implies that you will see tons of other people running around; not just a few people here and a few people there. Now, I know a lot of people would say that any MMO launch .... and that these things will be fixed eventually. Well, maybe I will eventually return. Add to the above most of the other complaints you have heard and I could not justify paying for even one month past the original 30 days. To AoC's credit, the creation of a siegeable guild city that has to be built from scratch, is a nice twist on standard guildhalls. Also, the game is pretty to look at, and you have to give credit to any game that has a "newb island" quest called Blood of a Whore. In any event ... I razzed trollers of this game in the past. I now think they might be right. The game is already dead, it just hasn't stopped breathing yet. I 'm goin back to CoX for awhile. See you there. |

Have you considered the possibility that they were not trolls? |

Sorry you fell out of love with the game. I'm sure they will be adding new content to fill in the gaps and in general patching up the game to where it should have actually been at launch. I think optimistically that point is at minimum 3 months off, judging by how fast or how slow things are getting fixed and added ingame.
The graphics, atmosphere, and music are very well done in my opinion, but performance and gameplay needs a lot of work. I'm gonna keep my eye on this one and hope Funcom comes out with some miracle patches. In the mean time, I'm fixing stuff around the house and working out at the gym more until this game gets better or something else comes along that intrigues me. |

@OP: Well friend. I canceled my accounts tonight as well. My reason. What you described, together with all other issues described all over the internet. Plus that the game ran absolutely technically fine from Early Access till the patch of 16th of June. After that it was 10fps drop, frequent disconnects, constant freezes (error reports being send on background lol) and frequent crashes to desktop. A company that can make their game client instable with each patch, instead of more stable lost their grip on the situation completely. I cannot justify either to start paying monthly subscription fees for the current state AoC is in atm. Cheers |

I find it harder and harder every day to log in. I soo much want this game to succeed, gameplay is wonderful, I love the original lore and the idea behind the crafting system appeals to be. But you are fighting a constant uphill battle against not only bugs and crashes but also what appears to be completely borked core game systems. And what really ticks me off is the lack of meaningful communication from funcoms side: What is the status on armors? Do they or do they not protect and if they do how do they do it? What is the status on changing the UI so it actually display game data players need to know? What is the status on female animations being 17% slower than male animations? What is the status on getting gemcrafting to work? FunCom has has failed to communicate with their customers in a meaningful modern way and keep on using the last milenium methods we have seen earlier with tailored press statements that in no way answers the questions the players is struggling with and paint a picture of the game there has little relation to the reality we experience while playing. I still have a hope but its quickly being snuffed out by funcoms attitude towards their customers. :( |

Hell i could never bring myself to play since the character art was so fucking horrid (the male character art) I cannot play a game where every possible customization still leave me with an ugly as ass character. |
