Democracy is 4 wolves and a sheep voting on what`s for dinner.

I think most people are Libertarian at heart. But many just don't really believe they can make it happen, or even work.

I would have to agree with this.

 

most people are decidedly moderate...but the system that is in place in this country doesn't allow for a third party to rise to prominence, so we're stuck with voting for either a republican or a democrat if we want to vote for a person who actually has a chance of being elected...though in California, my vote really means very little, since the state will always go to a democrat anyway.

There's something kinda sad about the way that things have come to be, desensitized to everything, what became of subtlety?

They are hippies..they want to Legalize POT!

 

What the hell...that isn't American. Also they don't want war when they would KILL US ALL if we didn't kill them.

Well actually this is not a troll post I sincerely believe what I have typed. Since I was angry I guess I didn't go into great detail about what I said and I guess I should.

 

Legalizing Pot: Why? This is wrong it kills brain cells and makes you stupid. Why would they want to legalize it? They claim the war on drugs is over and we lost..how? HOW? Hell, Ron Paul says he want sto legalize ALL OF THE DRUGS! WHAT is this INSANITY!?!?!?!??!  Yeah, keep crack heads on the street so they can kill and rape innocent people..smart.

 

The war: why leave? How CAN we leave? they attacked us...we can't let them get away with that. Sadam and the Iraqi government ASSISTED those terrorists and they want to pull us out? Hell so do the democrats. its crazy. Well at least the democrats are wary of Iran...thats a plus. Too bad Libertarians say Iran isn't a threat...They have NUCELEAR WEAPONS THEY COULD KILL US! I do not think they understand this...

 

So yeah sorry about making that one post..I guess it could have sounded like a troll : /

 

Edit: could a libertarian or someone try and explain these things to me..?

You don't know much about history, do you?

Go read the small government and personal responsibility ideals of the founding fathers and you will see how off base you are.  Our founding documents are what are the guiding principles behind the Libertarian platform.

We don't want to legalize pot so people will smoke it.  We want to legalize it because it's stupid to put someone in prison for making a wrong decision with their own body.  That is not a violent crime, yet you back putting them in prison along with violent criminals??? 

The drug war is not working, nor will it ever work.  You're just putting people in prison that could someday have a bright future instead of being stuck behind bars.

I've never done illegal drugs in my entire life.  Yet, I can see the lunacy of the drug laws.  They don't work.  That's obvious.  And in countries where drugs are legal, you will find that statistically drug use is below America's.  Seems offering people rehab instead of locking them up really does do wonders.
