The folks at EverQuest II have published an FAQ about character death in EverQuest II.

Though we go out into the world equipped with armor, spells and weapons, even the best of us will be smitten by a force more powerful than us on occasion. When this happens, there are a couple of options to bring your character back to life, depending on the situation. Below are some Frequently Asked Questions about character deaths.

Uh oh! My character died. Now what?

Upon the death of your character, you have a choice: remain in your body and wait to be resurrected by another player who has that ability, or revive yourself. If you are resurrected, your body will come back to life at the site of your death. If you revive, you will appear (with all your items) at a nearby explorer camp, graveyard, or at the nearest safe spot if you are in a dungeon or instanced zone.

Lol I thought EQ2 was closing....although it's not far off.
I bet Eq1 will keep going long after EQ2 is dead :)

"We have no plans what so ever to do actual sales of in game items, and I'm personally very opposed to the idea for EverQuest"
"We aren't going to be allowing RMT in any way, shape or form on the non-exchange enabled EQ II servers. Period."

Dec 2008 RMT is introduced in EQ and EQ2 without any warning whatsoever
That's SoE for you

Cynical? Me? Never.

In a few more months when you die you will respawn with fabled gear.

Cough EQ2 has more subs than EQ1 cough.  I played EQ1 back in the UO v EQ v AC days and loved it.  But there is not going back.  While EQ2 will grow, EQ1 can at best retain its player base.

Heck, then I'll just wait a few months, re-sub, die and get some spiffy gear. ;)

Was this really worth a post under news?

I mean, there's nothing new here - just some info on what happens when you die. It's been this way for a long time.

Yeah agree, thats the worst non-news to be called news in a while...

maybe we can have  a tour of "what happens when you die" from each of the main games - that might be worth reading - no it wont, i take that back :D

EQ2 its still grinding on, 70-80 expansion killed it for me..I'm sure someone thinks is the best thing since sliced bread

anyone else have some more exciting non-news?
