I am looking to upgrade my PC...actually build an entirely new PC from scratch and I was wondering

 

what is the next level of Intel processors that performs slightly better than the AMD 6000 X2 but is around the same price area?

The E8400.  about $170

clocked the same but has better architecture.  will out perform the x2 6000+

or go with the E8500 for $20 more...
