Want Darkfall now!

I know we have talked about it many times, but if there is new people gere that never have a seen another combat system then example WoW....it could be nice to try this.

Mount&Blade have a similar system as Darkfall, as the DF developers have stated when asked.

You can try Mount&Blade for free here.

If you try this, you will understand both the concept of character skill and players skill.

Thank you.

Are you wasting my time?

I understand how it looks the same, but you said the concept. Not the actual combat. Mount&Blade, tried it awhile ago didn't really like it, or maybe I thought I tried it?

But I'm sure Darkfall has a pretty different thing, we never saw the actual controls. Maybe it's click and move with your mouse, maybe it is the same, maybe you use your psychic powers. The fact is none of us really know.

Eh, my point is kinda destroyed since you said they said when asked but my point is still valid!

I'm sure it's the same but the controls are different.

Yep very similar to M&B, though not the same in everyway.

Definitely a cross between M&B and Oblivion, which makes for an amazing combination.

Daring to be different, and turning a lot of heads in the process.  Others...just are afraid of change and the challenge

Hope it's not exactly like Mount & Blade.  Sorry, but I absoluted thought Mount & Blade was pretty bad.  From controls to combat mechanics.  *shrug* To each their own I guess.

And i found it to be the most interesting combat system ever : )

I remember the first time i was in the arena on a horse, i was riding in a cirkle for five minutes before i could ride straith forward. Now its total freedom, roaming the land with a sword and shield. Cuting down anything in my way.

watching the videos and playing Mount and Blade i can see the similarities but they do differ quite a bit.  one thing i want to see is how they implement skills into such a system.  Mount and Blade is balanced in that a peasant can kill you and so can a knight, its just the knight has better armour and weapons so he has a higher chance of killing you.  in  a game with skills i doubt that will ever be an issue (who knows?)

I've been playing M&B for over 3 years . It can be kind of awkward at first but a large part of that is terrible animations, which are being addressed in the final version coming out in about 2 weeks. Its probably the longest time I've played any game, and I've played a few. Its one of those games that once you get into, you'll find yourself up way late, and you don't know how the time passed so quickly. It sure has its faults, but I've never gotten really bored of it (though I don't play it every single day). So basically, I hope very much that DF has a similar combat system, because the combat is the meat of M&B :)

While M&B and Oblivion are similar in controls.  I'm hoping they go with more of a Oblivion feel.  It's kind of tough to explain.  Oblivion controls just feel all around better.  When I originally tried M&B I was hoping for a feeling simliar to Oblivion.  What I got wasn't even close, though M&B is highly hyped.  IMHO It felt like a poor mans Oblivion, and Oblvion wa FARRRRRR from perfect.
